Celebrity Traitors star Paloma Faith has revealed how she once suspected that Alan Carr ‘leaked’ details of her breakup to the press.
The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer, 44, became the first of the Faithful to die after being targeted by comedian and long-time friend Alan.
Alan and fellow traitors Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns had been tasked with committing their first murder in plain sight.
This led to Alan, 49, ‘poisoning’ Paloma with the deadly pollen of a black lily which had been placed in Ardross Castle.
Despite apparently surviving the night, Paloma was placed in a coffin during the next day’s prize-building task and carried away.
With Paloma apparently seething over Alan’s ‘betrayal,’ an old conversation between the pair has resurfaced – in which she reveals how she once suspected him of leaking details of a breakup to the press.

In a clip from their Mad, Sad and Bad podcast, Paloma sat down for a conversation with pal Alan.

As they discussed the subject of celebrity gossip, Alan said: ‘I gossip about people all the time.’
To which Paloma replied: ‘You think it’s okay?’
Alan said: ‘I don’t like people… I mean, I’m a pure hypocrite. I love gossiping, but I hate people gossiping about me. I’m a complete gossip hypocrite.’
‘So you do sort of think it’s bad, but it’s a guilty pleasure?’ Paloma asked.

With Alan wriggling on the hook, she added: ‘Do you remember when I called you, we went out one night, we went to the Halloween party, and the next day it was in the paper that my relationship had ended, but I hadn’t told anyone.’
‘It was not me! You know it wasn’t me!’ Alan protested.
‘But do you remember I called you and asked if you knew, if you’d mentioned it by accident, you were like no, no, no,’ Paloma continued.

Realising the trap had been sprung, Alan joked: ‘Oh, now you’ve lured me in saying “are you a gossip?” And I’ve gone “yeah”, and you’ve gone “yeah, because someone’s gossiping about me!”‘
‘No!’ Paloma protested, in a fit of laughter.
‘This is a trap, Pam! Start the car, let’s get out of here!’ laughed Alan.

This clip has resurfaced in the wake of Alan’s dastardly murder of Paloma in this week’s Celebrity Traitors.
In the wake of her death, Paloma addressed the betrayal on spin-off show Traitors: Uncloaked.
‘These are like three of my favourite people that I was sure… I hope they never call me again,’ Paloma grumbled.
‘Bang out of order. Bang out of order. I feel really even more betrayed now. I feel betrayed by Jonathan and Alan.’

However, a source has hinted that Paloma’s sour reaction is all part of the game.
‘Paloma’s sad to be out first from Celebrity Traitors but is keen to carry on the game,’ an insider told The Sun.
‘She’s been making digs at Alan on social media to keep up the pretence that she’s still a Faithful at war with a Traitor, but of course, the pair are still incredibly firm friends.
‘Both of them have been in the business long enough to know not to take anything in showbiz seriously.’
Celebrity Traitors returns next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
