Jonathan Ross has been a fixture of British TV for decades now.

Most recently, the chat show host has been delighting (and horrifying) reality TV fans with his traitorous behaviour on Celebrity Traitors.

So far, he and his fellow Traitors, Alan Carr and Cat Burns, have managed to go undetected and murder Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, as well as Jonathan’s nemesis, Ruth Codd.

Yet it’s not just his bloodthirst and back-stabbing that’s shocked fans, it’s also his age.

Viewers were stunned to learn that Jonathan is, in fact, 64 years old.

‘We definitely don’t age like we used to because what do you mean Jonathan Ross is 64?’ wrote Jack Slater on X.

The shock wasn’t contained to X either. On Reddit one user wrote, ‘He still looks belting for a man in his 60’s.’

Jonathan has been a strong traitor so far managing to talk his way out of trouble despite two major slip-ups.

His first mistake was forgetting that he had a shield when talking to former rugby player Joe Marler.

The second error came when he helped banish Niko Omilana despite earlier claiming to be his ally. After this, Ruth became suspicious of his behaviour and nominated him at the roundtable.

However, just because he’s good at the game doesn’t mean he likes it.

In fact, he recently told his daughter, while on their podcast, Reel Talk, that he didn’t always enjoy the experience of manipulating his friends in the castle.

‘I know they’re already planning a second celebrity version,’ he explained.

‘I know because I’ve had two celebrity friends of mine call me and say, “I’ve been approached — is it good to do, is it bad to do?” So I’m giving them the benefit of my experience, which was I didn’t enjoy it.’

Jonathan later clarified on X that he’s ‘not discouraging anyone from taking part in future series of The Traitors’.

‘I am pleased I did it – an extraordinary experience- but I did not enjoy the duplicity as the game progressed,’ he revealed.

‘It’s a tougher psychological challenge than I expected, is all. But I would never try to talk anyone out of it – just trying to give them a sense of what to expect.’

The Traitors returns to BBC One on Wednesday at 9pm.
