Céline Dion enjoyed a special evening with her three sons at Paul McCartney’s concert in Las Vegas, marking another rare public appearance as she continues managing her health condition.

The 57-year-old singer attended McCartney’s Got Back Tour performance at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, October 4, accompanied by her sons René-Charles, 24, and 14-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy. Dion welcomed her children with her late husband René Angélil, who passed away in 2016 from throat cancer.

Embracing Live Music Together

Photos obtained by People showed the iconic performer enthusiastically engaging with the concert, clapping and raising her fists in the air while dressed in a black turtleneck and matching hat.

Dion has maintained a limited public presence since receiving her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in August 2022. The rare autoimmune and neurological disorder causes symptoms including excruciating muscle spasms, difficulty walking, and breathing challenges.

Despite these obstacles, Dion has prioritized attending live music events with her family. In June, she made headlines when she appeared at another Allegiant Stadium concert, this time for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour. During that show, frontman Chris Martin acknowledged her presence and serenaded the legendary singer.

“Well, Celine, my beautiful sister. You make my heart go on and on, near far, you’re a total superstar. Let’s hear it for the legendary Céline Dion, we love you,” Martin said after Dion appeared on-screen at the venue, according to People.

The tribute and audience applause visibly moved “The Power of Love” singer. She later described the experience as “unforgettable” on Instagram, writing: “My heart is still singing! 🎶.”

“A heartfelt thanks to the band and their amazing team for welcoming my family with warmth and kindness. It was all…fantastique❤️,” Dion added.

Finding Strength Through Family

The recent concert outing shows how Dion approaches her health condition with courage, particularly for the sake of her children. In a People cover story earlier this year, she discussed how her sons have become a source of strength during her health battle.

“I barely could walk at one point, and I was missing very much living. My kids started to notice. I was like, ‘OK, they already lost a parent. I don’t want them to be scared,’” she explained.

Dion emphasized her commitment to being honest with her sons about her condition while also providing reassurance. “I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, [but] mom has a condition and it’s different. I’m not going to die. It’s something that I’m going to learn to live with,’” she stated.

The singer has been candid about accepting her diagnosis while remaining hopeful about future treatment possibilities. “I haven’t beat the disease, as it’s still within me and always will be. I hope that we’ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it,” she shared in an interview with Vogue France last year.

In her 2022 Instagram video revealing her diagnosis, Dion explained how the illness impacted her abilities. “It’s been a struggle… All I know is singing. It’s what I love to do the most,” she admitted.

Despite these challenges, Dion told Vogue last year that her “happiness has come back” as she focuses on recovery.

Dion has made select high-profile appearances throughout her health journey. In February 2024, she received a standing ovation for a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards. She continued to inspire audiences with a performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and most recently, became the new face of Charlotte Tilbury.
