
Chevy Chase is one of the most beloved comedians to emerge from “Saturday Night Live.” Of course, he also became a household name due to starring in the “National Lampoon’s” movies. Now, there’s a new documentary about his life in the works, and it’s set to arrive in 2026.
According to Variety, the new documentary, “Iâm Chevy Chase and Youâre Not,” is produced by Propagate Content and Mipcom. It’s being billed as an authorized yet unfiltered look at the beloved comedian’s life and career.
“Iâm Chevy Chase and Youâre Not,” which is directed by Marina Zenovich, will premiere on Sky Documentaries in early 2026. So far, Zenovich has won two Emmy awards and is known for documentaries such as “Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic” and “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.”
The Production Team Opens Up About the Chase Documentary
Telling a person’s story through a documentary is a daunting task. It’s for this reason that numerous people and production companies are involved in the process surrounding the upcoming Chase movie. Howard T. Owens, co-CEO of Propagate Content, released a statement on “Iâm Chevy Chase and Youâre Not.”
He said, “Weâre thrilled to have Sky join the exceptional team behind this definitive portrait of Chevy Chase.”

Jamie Morris, who is the executive director, content strategy and performance at Sky, also released a statement. She said, “From being a founder member of the âSNLâ cast to starring in classics such as âNational Lampoonâs Vacation,â âCaddyshackâ and âFletchâ â Chevy Chase is a comedy icon. Marina Zenovich is the ideal filmmaker to take on the sharp edge and brilliance of this legend, and we cannot wait to bring this film to Sky and NOW audiences.”
He Remains Active Today
Chase was one of the original cast members on “Saturday Night Live.” Of course, helped make the “Weekend Update” segment of the show one of the most enduring. Still, he remains active in Hollywood today.
According to IMDb, he appeared in “The Christmas Letter” in 2024. He also provided the voice of Santa in the 2023 animated film “Glisten and the Merry Mission.” Additionally, he appeared in the hit NBC comedy “Community” for 4 seasons, spanning 85 episodes.
Chase also has multiple projects in the works, including “CATnip” and “The Ogilvy Fortune.”
