Chrissy Teigen shocked fans after husband John Legend shared a clip of her exfoliating in murky bathwater on his Instagram.

The All of Me singer, 45, posted a video to his 15.8 million followers of his wife, 38, exfoliating her skin in the bath with the water dyed a strange brown colour.

The post was captioned ‘Sometimes you gotta exfoliate!’ along with a tag of the model’s ‘favourite’ exfoliating cleanser from her husband’s skincare brand Loved One which caters to ‘melanin-rich skin’.

In the video, Chrissy clarified that she was ‘getting rid of [her] body makeup’ as she rubbed her leg down.

After fans started showing concern at the state of the bathwater in the comments she reiterated: ‘The water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off, like I said in the video my sweet angels!’

Nonetheless, fans continued to share their worries over her health from sitting in a bath contaminated with makeup dye.

But fans were still concerned about the whole video (Picture: @johnlegend/Instagram)

‘Wouldn’t you be better off having a shower so It can go down the drain!’ @todayssavvywoman commented.

‘Why didn’t you just shower instead of sitting in that?’ @ctnl4life added.

‘That water really is disgusting though whether it’s exfoliating, body makeup or whatever. Yikes!’ @scascone14 said.

‘She need to let that dirty water drain before posing on social media,’ @vinlysouldbortha suggested.

Meanwhile, others shared their relief at the explanation.

‘Thankful I listened to it bc she said she’s wiping ALL her body makeup off, only way this kind of water would be okay,’ @kushedkate wrote.

‘I was concerned for a minute about the colour of that water!! which is why listening and reading is necessary,’ @iamshe_onlyoneme added.

But with a slew of harsh comments targeting her appearance, many have also leapt to the media personality’s defence.

‘Why are people making declarations about her lack of clothing? You literally see more skin when she is wearing a bikini and this model has plenty of bikini photos online,’ @journeywithjaneen said.

‘No need to announce unfollowing. Their kids won’t go hungry and you won’t be missed.’

And user @mighty_mouse_desiree agreed: ‘The people freaking out about legs and arms… you’ve been to the beach right?’

‘Why y’all hate this woman so much damn let her be. She said exactly what she’s doing so how in the world would the water be clean,’ @herbestself also defended.

The Lip Sync Battle host is used to being unpredictable with her behaviour from wishing her colonoscopy could have lasted ‘longer’ so she could have had a good nap to having a sudden change of heart over having a vow renewal.

And it extends to her kids.

In January, the mother-of-four admitted her eldest son, Miles, six, has ‘never’ eaten a vegetable unlike his older sister Luna, eight.

She told Jimmy Kimmel Live: ‘Luna is the best eater. Luna’s amazing. She eats salads, vegetables. Miles has still not had a vegetable. Never. He accidentally ate a broccoli floret in fried rice and was so upset about it.’

Nowadays Chrissy’s main concern is the prospect of Donald Trump becoming President once more after she called him a ‘p***y ass b***h’ on X in 2019.

At Cannes Lion earlier this month the Cravings author admitted that although she was ‘beyond’ ready for him to return to office, she was also ‘scared’.

She explained: ‘It’s also kind of scary, because it’s, “Oh, he’s aware of me. What could really happen because of that? We obviously know he’s unhinged but could he actually come after you in other ways? It’s a weird feeling.’
