Chrissy Teigen Shares a Beautiful Letter from Heaven After Heartbreaking Family Loss

Chrissy Teigen, who is married to “The Voice” coach John Legend, shared an emotional moment with fans when she revealed that she and her family received a letter from heaven.

Teigen posted a video on Instagram on December 14 that shows her cuddling up on the sofa with her son as she opens a letter that they received from their beloved dog Penny, who passed away. The photo shows the pet pooch, a three-legged French bulldog, with angel wings. She is also holding her favorite ball in her mouth. 

Before reading the letter, Teigen shares that she is overcome with emotion. “I’m gonna cry,” she states. She then starts reading the words in the letter, sent by Heaven Sent Pets. “Your beloved Penny wants you to know she arrived safely and joyfully at the rainbow bridge.” The letter reveals how “all the angels” welcomed Penny into her new home and “she even received a beautiful pair of angel wings.” 

The letter continues, “Penny wants you to know she is happy in heaven. She is healthy and young again.”

In the caption, Teigen shared her thoughts, writing, “oh my god we got a letter from heaven and I’m crying.” Fans have shown their support for the model and her family, flooding the comment section of the video with their thoughts. 

“I love this way of honoring them,” a fan shared. “You have an Amazing Family & Life… Ms. Chrissy,” another person wrote. 

All About Chrissy Teigen’s Beloved Pet 

Penny died in January 2025, and her family has mourned their loss. On January 25, Teigen shared their loss with fans on Instagram, revealing that Penny had died in her sleep and how loved she was. 

She posted several photos of Penny and got emotional in her caption. “Our beautiful little tripod queen, penny, passed on peacefully in her sleep today,” Teigen wrote. “Born the same day John and I got married, 11 years ago, she was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy. She loved nothing more than being loved, having her nub rubbed, and destroying any ball she could get her paw on, even til her last weeks.”

Teigen also shared her happiness at having Penny in their lives and how much she would be missed. “Oh penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you. Say hi to Puddy and Pippa for us. You are all together again,” she wrote. Fans flooded the comment section with messages of love and support, with many sharing their own heartache and stories about losing their beloved pets.
