Mock the Week legend, Dara Ó Briain, gatecrashed a wedding this weekend, and the guests loved this surprise appearance.
Dara, 52, is a beloved comedian best known for his stand-up comedy career and his appearances on The Panel and The Apprentice: You’re Fired!
The Irish comedian is currently touring in the UK and was performing at Woolwich Works in London when he received a last-minute message from a guest at a wedding.
The guest in question, James Ballardie, posted about this sweet interaction with the comedy legend on X, formerly known as Twitter.
‘Hey @daraobriain – big wedding happening on the other side of Woolwich Works tonight. Come over and say hello!’ James tweeted the comic.
James revealed that Dara took him up on his offer: ‘At a wedding. Found out Dara Ó Briain is doing a gig next door. Tweeted at him to say come over and say hello.
‘Anyway, here he is,’ said James as he shared an image of the comedian with the guests,’ the message read.

Dara shared his best regards and joked that his attendance at the wedding meant good luck for the couple.
‘Best wishes to Catherine and Matt. It is tremendous luck to be blessed by a passing comedian on your wedding day,’ he tweeted.
Fans loved this wholesome interaction and took to social media to share their delight. ‘This is ridiculously lovely! Congratulations to the happy couple,’ said Relish_hendy.

Matt Koris who appeared to be the groom, replied: ‘Thank you so much for dropping in – what an amazing thing. Love you, love you work. A class act.’

Dara isn’t the only celebrity to gatecrash a wedding, strangely there are quite a few weddings that have played last-minute host to an A-lister.
In 2023, Coldplay’s Chris Martin gatecrashed a wedding after he was chased down by the bride.
In 2018, Tom Hanks also famously made an appearance at a wedding shoot that was taking place in Central Park and he was out on a run.
