Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken major steps to protect his family.

According to Goal.com, the “alarming” threats were made on social media and, as a result, Ronaldo switched up his security team.
The couple has also reacted to shield their kids, with Georgina Rodriguez leaving them off social media, according to NST.
They moved to a “more secure” compound in Riyadh, beefed up their security team with four additional bodyguards and two more security guards, built a bunker at their home, and venture out in public less, NST reported.
According to Marca, the new security team has caused controversy with one shining a flashlight at photographers while accompanying Rodriguez to Paris Fashion Week. DailyMail.com reported that the imagery and action with the flashlight caused controversy among some of Ronaldo’s Spanish-speaking fans, who took to social media to vent their concerns.
In fact, the couple moved to Saudi Arabia for security reasons, Marca reported, noting that the country is “one of the safest countries on the planet.”
According to Marca, Ronaldo’s “dismissal of the previous security officials and the hiring of this new bodyguard has not been welcomed by much of Cristiano Ronaldo’s close circle.” That’s because they are regarded as a more “intimidating” presence that conflicts with the previous style of Ronaldo and his partner, according to Marca.
Cristiano Ronaldo Hired a “Well-Known Security Expert’ to Beef Up His Family’s Security, Reports Say

DailyMail.com reported that the threats were serious enough that they “required police intervention.” However, the specific nature of the threats and who might have made them were not details that were released. It’s also not clear whether anyone was identified or arrested in conjunction with the threats.
Ronaldo, Rodriguez, and their five kids live together in Riyadh.
According to Marca, Ronaldo’s “new head of security is Cláudio Miguel Vaz, a well-known security expert.”
Vaz has “paramilitary training” and worked for “several renowned urban artists in conflicting areas of Portugal, such as the controversial rapper NGA,” Marca reported.
In addition, he has “worked with several Portuguese internationals such as Rafa Leao or Gelson Martins,” Marca reported.
