Cruz Beckham has officially entered the music industry for realsies as part of a mysteriously nameless indie band, who have popped up across the country in recent weeks playing at small venues.
TikTok is alive with reactions to videos posted by surprised fans, many of who thought they would grab a drink before seeing The Royston Club, but ended up watching the youngest Beckham son belt out his new tracks instead as a surprise support act.
The response, contrary to his eldest brother Brooklyn’s foray into online cheffing, has been surprisingly positive. Of course, where nepo babies are concerned, eyebrows tend to go heavenward. But his music? It doesn’t sound bad at all, and as a frontman, he’s kind of effortless and – dare we say it – cool.
Last year it was reported that Cruz, 20, had teamed up with songwriters and producers to supercharge his music career, strutting in the footsteps of his Spice Girl mum Victoria.
It was reported by The Sun that Posh and Becks had spent a ‘fortune’ on ‘getting him in rooms’ with the best minds in the biz. Now it looks as though their labours are paying off.

Today, Cruz announced two singles – Optics and Lick The Toad – are being released this Friday October 24, as he posed like a frog looking downward into a camera for a promotional picture.
It’s unclear what the band is called, as they’ve performed under a number of different monikers at recent gigs, including, according to TikTok fans: Lick The Toad, Waste Your Pain, and Tie The Knot.
‘Every night of their support it changed,’ said gig attendee hypersonic_hols.
The response to his 00s indie-inspired tracks has been largely positive, save a few tuts.

‘Ok but why does this slap?’ TikTok fanpage of The Royston Club, RoysternHQ, posted on the social media site, alongside a video of Cruz singing his heart out and the caption: ‘POV: You came early for The Royston Club but ended up watching Cruz Beckham’s new band.’
‘It’s a good song!’ raved Miryam, while poster Ry asked: ‘Why are people shocked he’s decent when his mum was a famous pop star???’
In Bristol over the weekend Cruz made a nod to his dad as he wore David’s famous number 7 England football shirt – a detail that was not missed by fans.
‘In his Dads 2002 World Cup top too. Mad flex that to be fair,’ commented Nathan, while Marky and another attendee agreed he’s ‘actually really good’.

‘I like it catchy good voice and good vibes,’ said TikTok user Sarah Mackay, while others agreed it was ‘decent’.
Others defended Cruz from nepobaby-sceptics, as a fan who attended a recent gig said: ‘Considering he’s performing under fake band names and supporting a band which plays smaller venues throughout the uk, I’d say he’s honestly doing the best his can to not take advantage of his nepotism!’
Frontman Cruz is joined in his band by Dan Ewins on bass, Dario Scott on drums, and Telmo Seixas on guitar.
While their name hasn’t been confirmed, one fan on TikTok said he signed some merch as: ‘Cruz Beckham And The Breakers’.
Meanwhile Cruz’s 29-year-old girlfriend, Jackie Apostel, who is a musician herself, posted some words of encouragement while sharing his announcement.
Explaining how they first met when they were put in a studio together to write songs, Jackie reflected: ‘I was told you had been working on your own project for ages and shifting sounds a bit, finding yourself.
‘I went in with an open mind and had no idea what to expect. I left that day knowing you were an unbelievable musician but most importantly that you loved it so much from the bottom of your heart and you would never stop, regardless of what anyone else thought.

‘During the time that work became friendship and friendship became us. You’ve gone out and found who you want to be right now and are finally ready to share it. And this is just a run little warm up. I hope you guys are ready for what’s next.
‘Cruz, I am so proud of you. I love seeing you do everyhing you said you would. I am your biggest fan forever. I love you.’
An industry source at the Brighton performance told Daily Mail: ‘It was a great night, for only his second gig he was pretty impressive. You can tell he’s a big Oasis fan. There was some indie rock and some indie pop.
‘It was a surprise gig for the audience at first. They didn’t know who he was until word started to spread.
‘He seemed to have been having a great time and he loved the venue. He’s a good frontman, didn’t say his name to anyone, he just played his music.’
In March, Cruz was seen performing on stage and declaring he ‘wants to be John Lennon’.
While Cruz has been known to harbour musical ambition for some time, having released a Christmas charity single in 2016, it seems like now everything is falling into place to make it a reality.
