
David Beckham is one of the most easily recognizable names in soccer. This is so much the case that he and his wife, Victoria Beckham, have become a staple in popular culture. Recently, the retired athlete took to social media to highlight his anniversary with the famed fashion designer.Â
David Beckham took to Instagram on July 4 to mark his anniversary with Victoria. He said in the caption, “26 years today you said YES to me. Happy Anniversary, and thank you for giving me our beautiful children and building the life that we have together.”
David added, “I love you, Lady Beckham.” The former soccer star tagged the four children he shares with Victoria Beckham in the post. Notably, the Instagram tribute also included four hearts, representing their kids.Â
David Beckham Recently Celebrated a Birthday
David and Victoria Beckham’s anniversary isn’t the only milestone the couple celebrated lately. According to PEOPLE, he turned 50 on May 2. To mark the occasion, the soccer star had a dinner party, complete with numerous celebrity guests.Â
The dinner guests included Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, and Gordon Ramsey. They held the dinner at Core in Notting Hill, which is said to be a fine dining establishment. Eva attended the dinner with her husband, and Gordon was accompanied by his wife.Â
David and Victoria Beckham also took to social media to share a bit of the birthday festivities. They said in a joint Instagram post, “Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all.” The couple also tagged three of the four children, as it seems Brooklyn didn’t attend the celebration.Â
The post contains several images. Some include David, Victoria, and their kids; others feature various friends and family members. One shot notably has David alone with the Eiffel Tower in the background.Â
The King Granted Him Knighthood
David Beckham was recently knighted in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list. Notably, this is Britain’s highest honorary title. He received the honor thanks to his charitable works as well as his accomplishments in sports.Â
According to ESPN, David said in a statement, “To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true. Off the pitch, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation.”
David continued, “I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do, and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in, but I’m immensely proud, and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”
