Natalie Tippett, the woman who came forward as the subject of Lily Allen’s blistering track Madeline, seemed to joke about the David Harbour cheating drama in a birthday post.

The singer’s latest album, West End Girl, sees her accuse her ex-husband of cheating with a woman she dubbed ‘Madeline’.

American costume designer Natalie Tippett stepped forward as the woman behind the moniker after reportedly meeting David while shooting 2021 Netflix film We Have A Ghost.

In the fallout of the revelations on West End Girl, Natalie shared a pointed post on her Instagram Stories referencing the songs.

Celebrating her birthday, Natalie reposted a message from friend Camille Gonzales of the duo posing for a selfie with a third friend.

On it, she wrote: ‘Happy bday mad…I mean natalie!!!!’

In the song Madeline, Lily suggests she and her estranged husband had an open marriage, so long as it was discreet and not based on emotional connection.

She sings: ‘How long has it been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?/ He told me it would stay in hotel rooms, never be out in the open/ Why would I trust anything that comes out of his mouth?’ I’m not convinced that he didn’t f**k you in our house.’

The chorus then explained: ‘We had an arrangement/ Be discrete and don’t be blatant. There had to be payment/ It had to be with strangers/ But you’re not a stranger, Madeline.’

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, Natalie claimed that she is the inspiration behind the song.

Rolling her eyes when asked whether she had heard Lily’s new music, she responded: ‘Of course I’ve heard the song.’

She added: ‘But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on.
