Davina McCall has married her long-term partner Michael Douglas in a quiet ceremony.
Douglas confirmed the news in an Instagram live video, where, while reading fans’ comments, he said, ‘All these congratulations coming, the newspapers decided to write a story today, to be clear, we didn’t tell the newspapers anything because that’s private. But thank you.’
He continued, saying: ‘We tried to keep it small and private, but thank you all for the congratulations.’
The television presenter, 58, exchanged vows with Douglas on Friday 5 December during an intimate service attended by close family and friends.
According to reports, the couple followed this with a larger celebration the next day, but kept the core ceremony deliberately small and private.
Those who attended the ceremony said it took place at a small venue close to the couple’s home, with around 10 guests present.
A source told The Sun: ‘Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about 10 of their friends and relatives to be there with them.
‘It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives. They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting.’
McCall and Douglas first met at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire during her long-running tenure as host of Big Brother.
Michael and Davina have been together since 2019. Michael was the star’s hairstylist for years before things got romantic, two years after her split from husband Matthew Robertson.
In October, McCall revealed that Douglas had proposed during a romantic trip to Ibiza, recounting the moment with characteristic humour. She explained that he had planned a beach lunch followed by a walk along the cliffs — an adventure she initially greeted with some reluctance due to ill-suited footwear.
Their marriage comes just months after McCall revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
In November, she shared an emotional video with followers explaining that she had undergone surgery, admitting she initially felt ‘very angry’ when she received the diagnosis.

The diagnosis followed another major health scare the previous year, when McCall underwent surgery for a benign brain tumour known as a colloid cyst.
The condition was discovered after she accepted a routine health check offered through her menopause advocacy work, an experience she later described as life-altering.
McCall shares three children with her former husband: Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18. The Ibiza location, she noted, was chosen because of its significance to all of them.
