Deadpool & Wolverine crossover coming to Call Of Duty reveals datamine

Call Of Duty dataminers have found evidence of a Deadpool & Wolverine crossover in Modern Warfare 3, including clips of a finishing move.

While not as synonymous with crossovers as Fortnite, Call Of Duty has still had many guest characters pop up in the shooter, with recent examples including the vault dwellers from Fallout and mechs from Gundam.

The next planned crossover seems to be tied to this summer’s biggest blockbuster, after dataminers discovered files which reference Deadpool & Wolverine in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

Evidence of the crossover was first discovered by dataminer crashfty, through an animation showing what appears to be a Deadpool finishing move, where a character rolls around his opponent and gives a cheeky wave in typical Ryan Reynolds’ style.

A Wolverine finishing move also seems to be included, where he grabs the enemy by the legs and swings them into the sky. Unlike the Deadpool one though, it doesn’t look typically Wolverine, so it could be related to something else.

It’s believed the crossover will be part of Modern Warfare 3 season five, which kicks off on July 24. Deadpool & Wolverine, meanwhile, comes out on July 26 in cinemas, so the timing certainly lines up.

While there’s a chance this could be related to something else, dataminers are usually reliable when it comes to uncovering crossovers – with the Fallout, Gundam, and Warhammer 40,000 events all being datamined ahead of release.

It seems Fortnite is gearing up for some sort of Deadpool & Wolverine crossover as well. This week, a new *Weapon X* outfit for the X-Men character was added to the shop, while Fortnite dataminer HypeX previously suggested some kind of event is planned for Chapter 5 Season 4, which is believed to be Marvel themed.

Deadpool previously came to Fortnite back in 2020, along with X-Force members Psylocke, Domino, and Cable. We’ll have to see if the skins make a return, however, when Chapter 5 Season 4 kicks off on August 16.

The trend of pop culture crossovers is unlikely to stop in the next instalment, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, which is out on October 25, 2024.
