Dennis Quaid, 79, Says Life With Wife Laura Savoie, 39, Is His ‘Paradise’

Dennis Quaid has lived a life full of Hollywood hits. The actor, singer, and producer has had some very interesting headline-making romances and unexpected twists. But according to him, nothing compares to his current chapter with wife Laura Savoie.

“Every day is paradise with her,” Quaid told Fox News Digital. “It really is.”

The actor, who is known for “The Parent Trap,” “Happy Face,” and more recently “Sovereign,” met the 39-year-old at a business event in 2019 when she was completing her second master’s degree at the University of Texas. (Go Horns!) They apparently immediately hit it off right away, with Quaid saying, “It was love at first sight.”

Savoie, a former certified public accountant and business master, later became a founding partner of Quaid’s production company, Bonniedale Films. Safe to say this relationship is as much about purpose as passion.

Despite their almost 40-year age difference, the 71-year-old doesn’t dwell on the number; rather he embraces it with love and trust. “She’s just the light of my life,” he said. “I wasn’t looking for an age gap. You don’t control who you fall in love with.”

Amen to that.

From Love at First Sight to Husband and Wife

The pair originally planned to wed in Hawaii in April 2020, but when COVID hit, they pivoted. On June 2, 2020, they went on to quietly elope in Santa Barbara with only their pastor as witness.

“Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride,” Quaid told People back in 2020.

For Savoie, the feeling was mutual. “I’ve never met someone who is so in love with life,” she also told the outlet. “Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me.”

And they’re not just partners in marriage; they’re also partners in the buisness world. Together, they launched Bonniedale Films in 2021, with Savoie at the helm alongside Quaid. So yes, she’s not just the woman behind the man; she’s next to him, building an empire.

Now, five years into their “I do’s,” the couple is still in the honeymoon phase. Quite literally, too.

“There’s something timeless about us,” Quaid said. “We both had to go through things to be who we are now. And who we are now was ready for each other.”

Savoie agrees. “It brings so much joy to every day,” she said of their bond.

This isn’t Quaid’s first rodeo; sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. He was previously married to actress P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, was married to Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001, and to real estate agent Kimberly Buffington from 2004 to 2018.

He shares one son, “The Boys” actor Jack Quaid, with Ryan, and twins Thomas and Zoe with Buffington.

“I’ve been married three times and this is the final one,” Quaid told The Guardian. “I feel like I have a real partner in life.” So much so that the actor revealed that Faith is the glue that holds them together. “We’re both Christians, and right from the start God has always had a hand in the relationship.”

That being said, as far as the question in the room, regarding the age gap, the actor decides to just shrug it off. “It really doesn’t bother us,” he said. “Everyone comes from the perspective of their own life, and I can’t let what a few people think control all that.” At this point, it doesn’t really matter, really. These two are clearly smitten, and good for them!

From box office blockbusters to real-life love stories, Quaid’s latest role as a devoted husband might just be his best performance yet!
