The Australian A-lister made the reveal while speaking about her new film, Babylon, which sees Margot partake in some particularly racy scenes.
The 32-year-old said she was comfortable shooting said scenes, explaining: ‘You get desensitised so fast,’ before dropping an anecdote from her time filming Wolf of Wallstreet alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, which also saw Margot partake in some very intimate moments.
Speaking on Tuesday while doing the press rounds for Babylon, Margot mentioned that there was a room on 2013’s Wolf of Wall Street set that was dedicated entirely to ‘genitalia wigs’.
Speaking on the Fitzy and Wippa podcast, the former Neighbours star said: ‘They have things called merkins, which is like a wig that for genitalia. I remember for Wolf of Wall Street, there was an entire merkin room.
‘I guess people would go in and pick one out. It was fascinating.’

She’d been responding to a remark made by one of the hosts that they’d heard a rumour it was particularly hard to find female actors with sufficient pubic hair for some period piece roles.
‘When you’ve got a period piece, I’ve heard that a lot of the time it’s quite hard to find women with real breasts and pubic hair,’ they remarked.
It comes after Margot’s co-star Jean Smart shared an insight into one of Babylon’s most raucous scenes, revealing that some extras took things too far and had to be removed from set.

Babylon focuses on the traumatic switch from silent movies to talkies in 1920s and 1930s Hollywood and the movie’s opening scene features graphic sex, drugs and jazz.
Discussing moments that were particularly tricky but memorable to film, Jean told Metro.co.uk: ‘First of all I was just blown away by [director] Damien’s [Chazelle] endless tracking shots through this party and our fabulous extras who were willing to just let it all hang out and show up day after day, completely uninhibited.
‘I thought, “Well God bless ‘em!” because that’s hard work and you don’t get a lot of glory for it – although they seemed to be having fun.’
She then added: ‘Apparently there were some extras who showed up who were high or brought in performance-enhancing items, who had to be politely asked to go home! But for the most part they were total pros and they just amazed me.’
