Content creator Dr Disrespect is edging closer to a comeback, as a new Twitter post and the exit of a long-time editor could mean a change in content.

Back in June, Guy Beahm, better known as streamer personality Dr Disrespect, admitted to inappropriately talking to a minor and immediately left on vacation, after he was demonetised on YouTube.

Six weeks later he confirmed that he will return to streaming, without specifying when, where, or what type of content he’ll be making.

This week, Dr Disrespect has shed more light on the situation, saying he’s back from vacation but that streaming his usual video games might not be part of his plan, seemingly as a result of one of his most important staffers leaving the channel.

‘Relaxing in the Lambo with the windows down… back from La Vacacion,’ Dr Disrespect said on Twitter recently.

He also appeared to be considering changing video games for a different type of content, saying:

‘Are people still streaming video games? What a snooze fest.’

This comes at the same time as one of his long-time video editors, known as ‘Alex’ to Dr Disrespect viewers, has left the channel.

‘Despite all the drama and chaos these past few months, I am still extremely proud of all the work I have done but it’s time for me to move on,’ he said on Twitter.

Alex went on to thank others he’s worked with during this time, but despite working for Dr Disrespect for six years, he left the streamer out of his goodbye message.

The editor didn’t specify why he’s leaving the channel, but it adds weight to the idea that Dr Disrespect is planning to change things up once he returns.

Another uncertainty about Dr Disrespect’s comeback is which platform he will use, as he was demonetised on YouTube and he was permanently banned on Twitch in 2020, when they found out about the inappropriate messages in the first place.

Besides video games, Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel also includes golf and American football content, so a pivot to sports could be an option.

Whatever it is, it will be interesting to see if he is met by the same fanfare as earlier in his career, after he lost tens of thousands of followers – many of which he called ‘brainwashed’.

Although it’s unknown if and when he we start streaming again there’ll no doubt be more teases and announcements on Twitter first.
