“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is one of the most popular shows in the realm of competitive reality television. Naturally, RuPaul hosts “RPDR,” but his best friend and one of the judges, Michelle Visage, has been by his side for decades now. Recently, Michelle posted a throwback photo of the two of them together.
The photo, which Michelle posted on Instagram, is from her wedding to David Case, who is also known as Jax Spencer. The two have been married since 1997. The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” judge said in the caption, “At the wedding while the brand new hubby @jaxspenser was enjoying the food and imbibing.”
Michelle continued, “My @rupaulofficial and I found another way to occupy our timeâ¦. My gown was created by the incomparable @verawang @billybmakeup did the paint, and @ruthroche did my gorgeous hair.”
The post itself contains six images. Five feature Michelle Visage dancing with RuPaul. The sixth picture is of Michelle and her husband, David Case.Â
RuPaul and Michelle Visage Have a Long History
According to the Daily Star, Michelle Visage met the future host of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in the late 1980s, and they quickly became friends. Soon, both their entertainment careers took off. Notably, Michelle was a part of the pop trio called Seduction.
Additionally, RuPaul began hosting “The RuPaul Show” on VH1. After a while, Michelle joined the show as a co-host, which ran for 100 episodes on the network before it ended in 1998. Despite the show ending, the two remained close friends.Â
Now, fast forward to 2009, and RuPaul was back on television with “RPDR.” However, Michelle didn’t join as a judge until the show’s third season due to being under contract to host a radio show. They have both been upfront about how Michelle’s inability to do the show initially negatively impacted their friendship for a while.Â
Currently, Michelle Visage isn’t only a judge on the US version of “RPDR.” She’s also on the UK version and even hosts the “Down Under” franchise as of 2024.Â
The “RPDR” Judge Has a New Show Starting
Both Michelle Visage and RuPaul are quite busy these days. Regarding Michelle, it was recently announced that she will be the host of a new E! show. The series, “Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind,” will feature celebrities considering reversing plastic surgery procedures.Â
The series will also feature Dr. Terry Dubrow and is set to premiere on July 9th. It features the likes of Kim Zolciak, Brielle Biermann, Aubrey O’Day, and more.Â
