Eamonn Holmes has shared a public gesture of support for Ruth Langsford after she revealed some worrying news.
The former This Morning presenters, both 64, announced they were splitting earlier this year after 14 years of marriage.
At the time, it was claimed work commitments had resulted in them drifting in different directions, though they’ve since said very little about their split.
While Eamonn has revealed his relationship with his new girlfriend, with the latest reports suggesting he plans on marrying her, Ruth indicated their divorce proceedings were not going ‘well’ and had reportedly hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.
However, the GB News presenter has now made a public gesture of support, liking an Instagram post of Ruth’s.
The Loose Women star revealed on Monday that her mum, who is about to turn 93, had been hospitalised, sharing a video of her dancing in the kitchen and writing: ‘No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas….she’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis!
‘She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now.

‘She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon.
‘This time last year she fell and broke her hip but recovered well…she’s a very strong woman so I’m sure she’ll recover from this too.
‘Put’s life and what’s important into perspective eh? Happy Christmas! X x.’
She was supported by the likes of Amanda Holden and Nadia Sawalha, who commented: ‘Awww Ruth ..wishing you all well xxx.’
Ruth later took to Instagram with an update, with Eamonn liked.

Alongside a picture holding her mum’s hand in hospital, Ruth said: ‘Hospital visit….thank you all so much for your lovely messages and well wishes for my darling Mum.
‘She’ll be in hospital for a bit longer yet, but she’s in pretty good spirits considering and I hope she’ll be home for Christmas.’
This Morning star Sian Welby commented: ‘Sending nothing but positive energy your way bless her x.’
Saira Khan said: ‘My darling Ruth – sending you all my love and praying your lovely mum is back home for Christmas x.’

Last year, Ruth revealed her mum broke her hip after suffering a serious fall, sharing updates on social media as she recovered.
‘MY DANCING QUEEN IS BACK!!! You may have been wondering why I haven’t posted anything of Mum in my kitchen for a while…well, she had a fall before Xmas and broke her hip!’ she later explained in February.
‘As you can see she’s recovered well after a hip replacement op but I wasn’t able to get her in and out of the car before today…it’s wonderful to have her here again (and I get all the veg for our roast peeled of course!)
‘She’s an incredible woman and I hope I’ll still be singing and dancing in the kitchen when I’m 92!! Love you Mum.’
It’s reported Ruth and Eamonn are keen to finalise their divorce as ‘quickly as possible’ (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)
This comes after reports Ruth and Eamonn were keen to finalise their divorce as ‘quickly as possible’ after rumours he wanted to marry his new girlfriend Katie Alexander, 42.
A source told The Sun: ‘The aim is for Eamonn and Ruth to resolve their divorce as quickly as possible in the New Year.
‘Ruth is keen to stay in their marital home as it is where she is settled. Eamonn on the other hand wants to get out and make a fresh start.
‘They aren’t dragging their heels and want this settled and done as quickly as possible.’

It comes amid claims Eamonn is planning to propose to Katie, 42, who he has been pictured with numerous times in the last few months after they embarked on a romantic luxury holiday together.
They’re said to be ‘smitten’ with each other and ‘in love’, and have even moved in together.
Meanwhile, Ruth has remained tight-lipped about the break-up but it was claimed she was shocked by the new couple going on a luxury holiday together and that she was ‘partying through the pain’.
She also commented on how difficult it is going through personal issues in the public eye, while talking to Tommy Fury about his split from Molly-Mae Hague, as she said: ‘It’s a tricky time, as I know, going through all these things in public. Everyone’s got something to say, without knowing the truth.’
