Ed Sheeran has definitely got his priorities straight, as he opted for the football over Glastonbury Festival this weekend.

Swapping Worthy Farm in Somerset for Gelsenkirchen Stadium in Germany, the Shape Of You hitmaker experienced every possible emotion as he watched England take on Slovakia for the UEFA Euro 2024 last-16 tie.

Thankfully, the night ended on a high and Ed was able to leave the venue to celebrate in his England shirt as his home team progressed through to the next round of the competition after a victory in extra time.

Ed, 33, is known for his love of footie and had previously been in the stands during England’s 1-1 draw against Denmark.

He’s also frequently spotted cheering on his club, Ipswitch Town, who were recently promoted to the Premier League.

This time, he was in much higher spirits once the crucial knockout game concluded, after initially holding his head in his hands and wearing a concerned expression when it all looked to be going pear-shaped.

Just 25 minutes into the game, Gareth Southgate’s squad were already losing 1-0, with Grammy winner Ed unable to hide his frustration.

Wiping his brow and watching the pitch intently, the A Team vocalist didn’t appear to be brimming with optimism.

With England at risk of crashing out of the Euros, the stakes were high, with Jude Bellingham managing an impressive overhead kick to bring the team back from the brink and save Southgate from an embarrassing defeat.

Then, as the clock ran over, Harry Kane took them to the lead, despite initial disbelief that the manager hadn’t made any substitutes ahead of the second period.

Boos filled the stadium within minutes of the restart, as England’s future looked bleak before Kane pulled it back.

Photos captured Ed amid the crowd of 60,000 with a beaming smile on his face, jumping around with his arms over pals’ shoulders in triumph.

Ed had his phone in hand to capture snaps of the momentous occasion, pulling his mates in for hugs who also couldn’t believe their eyes.

Along with Ed, the venue tonight was filled with Wags supporting the players.

These included fan favourite Tolami Benson, the 23-year-old partner of Bukayo Saka.
