Elden Ring fan finds a cheeky way to beat Malenia with ease

Malenia is most unimpressed (YouTube)

A fan video shows that with the right Nightrider Glaive weapon build just about anyone can take down Elden Ring’s most difficult boss.

Just as FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki said that using guides to get through his very demanding games, such as the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring, are ‘perfectly valid’, one fan has found a way to beat Elden Ring’s most challenging boss with ease.

It’s great timing too if you want to level up before Elden Ring’s expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree comes out June 20. Another tip… you might want to get ready for the expansion beforehand, because you have to get to a certain point in the base game to access the new map.

Luckily you don’t have to beat Malenia on your way there, but with a specific weapon build you can take her down pretty easily and enjoy the rewards you get for doing so.

A Reddit user has posted how they fell Malenia in the first of two phases of the fight without taking any damage.

Dspencil’s video has reached 9,000 upvotes and shows how, equipped with the Nightrider Glaive Halberd, Ash Of War Spinning Strikes, and the Bloodflame Blade Incantation, you can kill Malenia quite easily.

This weapon build not only deals a lot of damage to Malenia with each strike, but it keeps staggering her, unable to attack you, as seen in the video below.

To get your hands on the Nightrider Glaive you need to defeat the Night’s Cavalry, which only spawns at night time, south of Bellum Church.

The Bloodflame Blade is obtained by taking down a Teardrop Scarab, that you can find outside the Rose Church in North Liurnia.

Finally, if you finish Irina’s quest line, a non-playable character named Edgar will drop a Banished Knight’s Halberd at the Revenger’s Shack with Spinning Strikes Ash Of War attached. You get the Spinning Strikes by extracting the Ash Of War from it.

Elden Ring has become a favourite among creative gamers and content creators who like to find elaborate ways to beat the game and all its uncompromising bosses.

Twitch streamer Silithur played the game relying on nothing but Morse code, while Perrikaryal went to the lengths of using a headset that could read her brainwaves, which then controlled the character in the game.

Silithur went on to beat the entire game, including Malenia, but a far easier way would be to run at her with the Nightrider Glaive Spinning Strikes combo.
