In a rare and radiant public appearance, Emma Thompson took to the red carpet with her daughter Gaia Wise!
The two posed in near-twinning fashion as they attended the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. Thompson, promoting her new film “The Dead of Winter,” wore a crisp white two-piece that was adorned with cherries.
Her 25-year-old daughter dazzled in a glittery white sheer top and matching bottoms.
The two were arm-in-arm as they smiled for the cameras.
Later on, the Oscar winner received the Leopard Club Award at the festival, per IMDb.
Thompson wore a silver sparkly top while she accepted the award and white pants. Her daughter opted for a gorgeous black body-hugging dress for the event.
The two were hugging as the cameras snapped them on the red carpet.
Gaia Wise Shared a Funny Post About Her Mom’s Ex
The close bond between Gaia and Thompson extends beyond just looks.
Gaia previously delighted fans when she reshared a humorous X post to her Instagram story in July 2024, according to PEOPLE.
The post featured stills from the 1993 adaptation of “Much Ado About Nothing” with Thompson and her ex-husband Kenneth Branagh.
The caption read, “She’s everything. He’s just Ken,” which poked fun at the tagline for the 2023 film “Barbie.”
Thompson went on to marry her husband Greg Wise after they met on the set of “Sense and Sensibility.”
Thompson Recalls How She Met Her Husband
The actress previously opened up about how she met her husband while on The Graham Norton show in January 2020, per the Daily Mail.
She told the host about what Wise was told prior to filming the movie.
“Before he did the job, he went to see a friend of his who was a bit witchy and she said he would meet his future partner on the film,” Thompson said. “He assumed it wasn’t me because I was married and quite lot older than him so he thought it might be Kate [Winslet].”
Wise ended up going out on a date with Winslet, which apparently left the “Titanic” actress “bored.”
Thompson recalled Wise thinking, “This isn’t going to work, who can it be?”
She added, “Then things happened that probably shouldn’t have happened, and it’s been 25 years in May.”
The two ended up marrying in 2003 and have two children. They share Gaia as well as a son named Tindyebwa “Tindy” Agaba, whom they adopted from Rwanda.
