
The voice acting industry is mourning the heartbreaking loss of beloved voice actor Jim Ward.
The Daytime Emmy winner, known for his works in animations like “Ratchet & Clank” and “The Fairly OddParents,” passed away on December 10, 2025. He was 66.
The sad news was announced by âThe Stephanie Miller Showâ host Stephanie Miller in a post on X.
“One of the saddest messages I have ever received from the amazing Mrs. Jim Ward:
‘Our wonderful ‘voice deity,’ as Steph anointed Jim Ward, passed away today at 10:45 AM. Can you let Steph know? Thanks, Janice,’” Miller shared.
Wardâs cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Jim Ward’s Successful Career
Jim Ward, born James Kevin Ward on May 19, 1959, in New York City, made a name for himself in voice acting across animation, video games, and radio.
He is best known for his voice acting as Captain Qwark in the “Ratchet & Clank,” Chet Ubetcha and Doug Dimmadome in “The Fairly OddParents,” as well as XLR8 and Diamondhead in “Ben 10.”
In 2006, Ward played the roles of Eyemore, Crusher, and Stoker in the “Biker Mice from Mars” reboot, which earned him a Daytime Emmy Award in 2009 for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program.
Ward’s other notable works included “Justice League Action,” “Despicable Me,” “Star Wars,” “Spider-Man,” “Star Trek,” “Wolverine and the X-Men,” “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” and games like “The Elder Scrolls Online.”
In 2021, Ward reportedly began showing symptoms of early-onset Alzheimerâs disease and later suffered a severe case of COVID-19, which ultimately led to his retirement.
