Bargatze is an extremely successful stand-up comedian. According to Billboard, his 2024 tour was the highest-grossing comedy tour of the year, selling over a million tickets over 148 shows. Bargatze was also nominated for two Emmy Awards this year for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, both for “Your Friend, Nate Bargatze.”

This will be Bargatze’s first time hosting the Emmy Awards, although he no stranger to live hosting. The comedian has hosted NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” twice, once in 2023 and once in 2024.

He’s already made some comments and jokes about his plans for the award show. On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Bargatze claimed he’ll donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America if the Emmy winners keep their speeches under 45 seconds. However, he’ll take away $1,000 from the donation pot every time someone goes over time.
