Everything leaving Netflix in July from Dune to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

It’s that time of the month again, when we can look ahead to see all the films and TV shows that are being removed from Netflix in the UK over the coming weeks.

In July, the streaming platform looks to be getting rid of a whole swathe of its film content and not many TV shows, including feel-good and sexy rom-coms like Mr & Mrs Smith, The Proposal and First Daughter, starring Katie Holmes.

The streaming platform clearly isn’t a fan of the ‘Christmas in July’ concept either as The Holiday will be leaving too, so make sure you’ve wallowed in the relationship woes of Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black before the start of next month.

There’s also some awards heavyweights exiting stage left too, such as 12-time Oscar nominee The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, 2014 thriller Gone Girl and The Blind Side, which has become somewhat controversial following revelations as to its real-life inspirations.

In terms of the action genre, there’s a fair few big hitters being wiped off there too with Crank, Transporter 2, Bastille Day and Man on Fire all set to be gone soon.

July is also the month that marks Netflix losing a lot of its workout videos, which were made and licensed exclusively to the streamer by Nike after the pandemic – as well as surely one of the best-ever movie sequels, 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Several major Oscar contenders are out too, including The Revenant, starring Tom Hardy (pictured) and Leonardo DiCaprio (Picture: Kimberley French/20th Century Fox/Regency Enterprises/Kobal/Rex/Shutterstock)

Sadly for anyone that was still hoping to belatedly see Dune: Part Two after it was released in March, the ability to watch its 2021 predecessor for free as a subscriber is about to vanish as it’s getting yanked off Netflix shortly.

Also, in a slightly odd turn of events, Venom is coming off Netflix as well, according to What’s On Netflix, just a matter of weeks before the third film in the Tom Hardy-starring franchise, Venom: The Last Dance, is released in cinemas.

There is, however, plenty of new content to look forward to, from Eddie Murphy’s return in sequel Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F to supernatural horror movie Smile, ahead of its upcoming follow-up film, alongside the third and final season of TV show Vikings: Valhalla and Cobra Kai season six part one.
