“Mark your calendars! Another season of ‘Survivor’ is coming our way soon!” CBS captioned the post.

With a concrete date to look forward to, here’s everything you need to know about “Survivor 49.”

How Long Will ‘Survivor 49’ Episodes Be?

The season will make its CBS debut with a double-premiere episode on September 24, though subsequent episodes will continue to fill “Survivor’s” reserved 90-minute slot on CBS’s Wednesday night line-up. While the show used to air 60-minute episodes, this trend changed in response to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. When fans applauded the longer format, CBS made the change permanent.

When is the Finale of ‘Survivor 49’?

Assuming the “Survivor 49” continues the new-era trend of dividing the 26-day game into 13 episodes, the season will likely end in mid to late December. “Survivor 47,” for example, aired its finale episodes on December 18, 2024. As December 10 is generally considered to be “too early” for a “Survivor” finale, and Christmas Eve falling on a Wednesday in 2025, the finale will mostly air on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Who is on the Cast of ‘Survivor 49’?

Though CBS has yet to “officially” reveal the identities of the “Survivor 49” castaways barring their brief appearances in a first look at the season following the finale of “Survivor 48,” sleuthing fans have already filled in the blanks. A full rumored cast list leaked by Inside Survivor place players like alt-rock singer Annie Davis, former Marvel executive Nate Moore, and Alberta Ice Pilots hockey player Jake Latimer on “Survivor 49” this fall.

Rizo Velovic and Savannah Louie, also on the leaked cast list, have been heavily rumored to be the mystery “Survivor 49” players returning to play in back-to-back seasons on “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.”

Jeff Probst, who has helmed the series since its debut in 2000, will return to host both forthcoming seasons.

When was ‘Survivor 49’ Filmed?

Despite formerly marooning castaways in remote locations like the Australian Outback and the Brazilian Highlands, “Survivor” has filmed exclusively in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands since Season 33 in 2016. “Survivor 49” continued the tradition, landing in Fiji to begin filming in April 2025. Filming reportedly wrapped filming the following month, continuing the new-era tradition of recording the Final Tribal Council votes on location.

Where Can I Watch ‘Survivor 49’?

As always, new episodes of “Survivor 49” will be available to watch on CBS every Wednesday night at 8:00pm ET following its September 24 debut. For fans unable to catch the show on cable, new episodes will be available to stream the following morning on the Paramount+ app.
