Badgley shared the news in an Instagram video on Wednesday, September 3, while promoting a live event for his upcoming book Crushmore, co-written with his Podcrushed cohosts Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari.

While on the red carpet for the premiere of the final season of Netflix’s “You”, Badgley opened up to Access Hollywood about fatherhood, sharing how much responsibility he and his wife, Kirke, feel in raising their children.

“They’re identical boys, so now we have four boys,” he said. “I do mean this sincerely — it sounds a bit tacky, but the world needs more good men, so the pressure’s on us to raise them well.”

When asked about his “dad superpower,” the actor added: “Well, it’s my patience until I’ve lost it, and then I’m just as bad as anybody else. But I can be very patient.”

The twins join the couple’s 4-year-old son, as well as Kirke’s 16-year-old son, Cassius, from her previous relationship with Morgan O’Kane. Parenting two at once may feel familiar, but Kirke previously admitted she expected the experience to be unique.

“It’s humbling,” she told E! News in May. “It’s so overwhelming. The idea of two at once, it’s one of those things where you just take your hands off the wheel, and you say, ‘I’m just on the ride.’ That’s what pregnancy and childbirth are for me.”

Parenting Journey With Kirke

The couple first revealed the pregnancy in a May Instagram post. “Babies #3 and #4 coming this Summer! Talk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical,” Kirke wrote. “We are stunned. We are in awe. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be on this ride with @pennbadgley.”

For Badgley, the prospect of twins was particularly moving. “To be honest, when we see the sonograms right now, seeing them together, as an only child, you know, it’s very touching to see them already so together,” he shared on the Call Her Daddy podcast in April. “They’re so together.”

Both parents have spoken openly about their journey to expand their family.

The birth of their twins follows a period of growth for the couple, who balance busy creative lives with parenting.

Kirke, a singer and doula, has described the pregnancy as “magical” and emphasized the importance of letting go and embracing the ride. Badgley has spoken about how fatherhood has reshaped his perspective, calling the arrival of twins a “plot twist” that deepened his appreciation for family.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Badgley and Kirke began dating in 2014 and made their first public appearance together the following year at a fundraiser in New York City. They married in a courthouse ceremony in February 2017, followed by a larger outdoor celebration later that year.

The actor also became stepfather to Cassius, Kirke’s son from her previous relationship. Since then, the couple has built a blended family filled with love, now even busier with the arrival of their twins.
