Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande have become the internet’s latest obsession after taking a photo together on the red carpet.
The pair attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Saturday afternoon, and after running into each other on the carpet, the Wicked actress, 31, knelt down to give the Babygirl star, 57, a kiss on the hand.
While sweet, the moment isn’t what captured fans’ attention, but rather what came after, as a picture of the two together shows off their enormous height difference.
Standing beside one another with Ariana’s arm wrapped around Nicole’s waist, the difference in height between the actresses had never been more obvious, with the oldest of the two towering over her junior.
Snaps of the moment were shared across social media with many fans sharing their surprise at the picture.

@niyarakorbelas added: ‘Nicole makes everyone look small’. While @lcscostadev said: ‘Ariana is so smol’.
@arianaunext also commented, tweeting: ‘Omg the height difference’ with a crying emoji.
Ariana confirmed in 2019 that she is 5ft 2, or 1.54cm, revealing on the The Zach Sang Show: ‘I’m like five … just five. No, I’m 5-foot-2.’

Meanwhile, Nicole stands at 5ft 11 or 179.1cm, and has previously spoken about how she has moments where she feels insecure about her height but chooses to focus on the fact that she is healthy and happy.
She told Radio Times in 2024: ‘Whenever I go on the red carpet, I get sent shoes that are always so high. I’m like, “Do they have a kitten heel? I’m going to be the tallest person – a giraffe!”‘
The actress continued to say that while her height has not caused any limitations in regard to her work, she does sometimes get annoyed by it: ‘It will bother me when I’m acting and I want to be small – but then there are times when I appreciate it and can use it in my work,’ she said.
‘Hey, I’m incredibly grateful to be healthy and walking around. Having said that, I’ve had knee issues and all sorts of things partly because of my height!’

Both women were honoured at the Palm Springs International Film Festival with Nicole taking home the international star award for her performance in the new erotic thriller Babygirl.
She shed tears as she accepted her award presented to her by Jamie Lee Curtis, thanking the organisation for giving her the chance to thank her late mother, who heartbreakingly died in September.
‘My whole career has been for my mom and my dad, who are not here now. I’m still going to keep working and giving to the world because I love what I do, and I love you all, and I’m so grateful for the privilege to be a part of the film community.’

Elsewhere, Ariana was awarded the rising star award by The White Lotus actress Jennifer Coolidge, whom the Wicked actress has looked up to for years.
Upon receiving her accolade, the multi-talented star told the audience: ‘You don’t know how much it means to me. I’ve been performing since I was a child, so I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words “rising star” again, so I wanted to start by thanking my two friends: Botox and Juvederm.’
‘I thought I’d be hearing “slightly withering star” or “drooping star” by now, so thank you,’ she added.
