“It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love,” Sweeney said in a press release.

While a number of people have expressed their intent to buy the soap, others have criticized Sweeney for selling it.

“In this era of constant sexualisation that women go through, sydney sweeney (also a victim of the mentioned problem) setting back women by doing something like this is just wrong on so many levels,” wrote one person on X (formerly Twitter).

Many people echoed the sentiment that Sweeney was somehow setting back feminism by selling this product to a predominantly male audience.

“Sydney sweeney. BABE,” one person wrote. “You just singlehandedly set feminism back 100 years WDYM BATH WATER.”

Some have expressed surprise that Sweeney would sell this sexual a product after speaking about feeling sexualized and dehumanized by strangers. Others have pointed to the fact that the product doesn’t sound particularly sanitary.

The actor once criticized feminism in Hollywood

Sweeney once spoke critically of feminism in Hollywood. She said that while people speak about empowering women, they don’t actually do it behind closed doors.

“This entire industry, all people say is ‘women empowering other women,’” she told Vanity Fair (per the <a href=”https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj3m83kd6z8o” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>BBC). “None of it’s happening. All of it is fake and a front for all the other s*** that they say behind everyone’s back.”

She said it frustrated her to see women failing to support one another.

“It’s very disheartening to see women tear other women down, especially when women who are successful in other avenues of their industry see younger talent working really hard — hoping to achieve whatever dreams that they may have — and then trying to bash and discredit any work that they’ve done.”

Sweeney believed that women could be competitive, believing that there was only one spot for them at the top.

“I’ve read that our entire lives, we were raised – and it’s a generational problem – to believe only one woman can be at the top,” she explained. “There’s one woman who can get the man. There’s one woman who can be, I don’t know, anything. So then all the others feel like they have to fight each other or take that one woman down instead of being like, let’s all lift each other up.”
