Fans are just discovering that the lead singer of Cascada has an English accent – and they’re more than confused!

Cascada is an iconic dance music act that was popular in the early noughties with hits such as Evacuate the Dancefloor and Everytime We Touch.

The group was extremely popular and released four studio albums between 2006 and 2011 that were met with success across Europe.

Despite their success, there seems to be some kind of Mandela effect going on as a lot of people were certain that the lead singer was German – until she started speaking on a red carpet in a perfect English accent.

In an interview at the Capital Summertime Ball, the lead singer of Cascada, Natalie Horler spoke to a reporter who was shocked by her voice.

‘I had no idea you were English,’ said the reporter. ‘I thought you were American!’

‘Really? Many many people think I’m German actually because I live in Germany.’

The singer laughed as she said: ‘My mum’s from Romford, Essex and my dad’s from Southampton!’

It has been reported that Natalie was born in West Germany in 1981 to English parents so dual nationality as an English-German citizen.

The reporter wasn’t the only confused person as fans flocked to say they couldn’t believe the star was English.

‘Learning Cascada isn’t German is a MANDELA EFFECT,’ said Cathoarderkatie.

‘I thought she was German. Didn’t she represent Germany in Eurovision?’ asked User02547808.

‘I am absolutely gobsmacked to find out that Cascada is an English woman called Natalie,’ said And_rew_thom on X.

To clear things up, Cascada – the band – is a German group that consists of, German-English singer, Natalie and two German DJs/producers, DJ Manian and DJ Yanou.

The group was formed in 2004 and in 2013 the group represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. The group sang the song Glorious and placed eleventh in the competition.

When asked about what her favourite thing about being British is, the singer said she liked the ‘banter’.

‘The banter, and I love the relaxedness about us, I live in Germany and I love Germans and I have thousands of friends of course but there is a difference between the vibe,’ she told the interviewer.
