
A week after Hulk Hoganâs tragic passing, the official cause of his death has been revealed. A Page Six report confirms that he died from an acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.
According to documents obtained by Page Six from the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center, the WWE legend suffered a sudden blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle, leading to fatal tissue damage. The report also stated his manner of death was ruled natural.
Undisclosed Health Battles: AFib & Leukemia History

In addition to the heart attack, Hogan reportedly had a history of atrial fibrillation (AFib) â a condition characterized by an irregular and often rapid heart rate. More notably, the medical report revealed that the wrestling star also battled chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a type of blood cancer affecting white blood cells called lymphocytes. It appears the leukemia diagnosis was never made public before his passing.
Cremation Request Under Review

While the timeline for Hoganâs cremation has not been finalized, the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center confirmed it received a formal cremation summary approval report.
A spokesperson told Page Six, âI am not aware when Mr. Bollea will be cremated, only that we received a request for cremation approval.â
Cardiac Arrest at Home & Emergency Response

On July 24, the former WWE superstar went into cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home. He was rushed via ambulance to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. He was 71.
His representatives confirmed the tragic news shortly after: âUnfortunately, we must confirm that Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, passed away this morning. We are heartbroken. He was such a great human being and friend.â
Health Rumors Denied by His Wife Before Passing

Weeks before his passing, concern had mounted over Hoganâs health following a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) neck surgery in May.
His wife, Sky Daily, attempted to calm public speculation on July 12, writing: âNo, heâs definitely not in a coma! His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumors are true.â âHeâs healing and weâre taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.â
Family Reactions to the Sudden Loss
Since the news broke, Hoganâs family has shared emotional tributes. His wife, Sky Daily, wrote on July 25: âThis loss is sudden and impossible to process. My heart is in pieces.â
His son, Nick Hogan, also honored his father, calling him his âbest friendâ in a heartfelt Instagram post that included old family photos: âThis has been overwhelming and extremely difficult.â
