Five fans were left scratching their heads waiting for an act who never turned up on stage at their latest show.
Earlier this year the boy band – who formed in 1997 and whose line-up includes Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love and Jason ‘J’ Brown – announced they were reuniting for their first stadium tour in 25 years.
The band were a flying success from the start, with their self-titled debut album selling over four million copies worldwide. They went on to two more albums – but then split up in 2001.
They briefly reformed in 2006 but disbanded soon after. They later planned another reunion in 2012, but without Brown.
However, their latest reunion – which will see them play 10 shows across the UK – has seen all five back on board.
But during their first show of the tour in Cardiff on Wednesday night, there was a notable absence.

Ahead of Five hitting the stage, fans had arrived early to watch the highly publicised support act, Naughty Boy.
The DJ – real name Shahid Khan – rose to prominence with his debut album Hotel Cabana in 2013, and has worked with Emeli Sandé, Sam Smith and Beyoncé.
However, many were left disappointed when the 44-year-old didn’t turn up at all.
‘Naughty Boy was supposed to do a DJ set at 7.40pm, even Five posted the running order on their IG Stories with him on it before the show,’ one concertgoer told The Sun.
‘There is nothing on Five or Naughty Boy’s socials explaining why he wasn’t there. Let me tell you, the crowd of millennial women weren’t happy!
‘All of Naughty Boy’s DJ equipment was set up on the stage but he just never turned up.’

They continued: ‘It was Five’s opening night of their tour but Naughty Boy not being there just seemed shambolic.
‘We had no idea what was going on and just ended up sitting on the floor in the arena with the lights on for over an hour, waiting for something to happen.
‘They eventually announced over the loudspeaker that Naughty Boy wouldn’t be performing and everyone in the arena started booing. It wasn’t a great start for Five or their fans who have waited months for this tour.’

Naught Boy was announced as part of Five’s reunion tour in March, with the band sharing at the time: ‘Buzzing to have Naughty Boy on tour with us too, five bad boys and a naughty boy, that sounds like a lot of fun. Let’s go!’
Speaking to the crowd at the Utilita Arena last night, Brown became emotional and said: ‘Never in our wildest dreams could me and the guys have imagined we’d share a stage again.
‘It really does show that, at the end of the day, love conquers everything.’

In an interview with Metro earlier this year, the band spoke about coming back together after years of tension and no contact.
But around two years ago, Robinson booked an Air BnB for the band to bury the hatchet once and for all, each of them arriving with their own baggage and trauma.
‘Instantaneously the door opened, and we just hugged,’ he said.
‘Even wives, girlfriends, and family members will never, regardless of how much we try to explain to them, be able to feel what we all went through together and that’s part of our bond,’ Brown added.
Metro has contacted representatives for Five and Naughty Boy for comment.
