<p id=”par-1_33″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/?swcfpc=1″>Prince William</a> and the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/kate-middleton/?swcfpc=1″>Princess of Wales</a> (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/”>formerly known as Kate Middleton</a>) have reportedly made an important decision for their family’s future as they are relocating to a “forever home” in Windsor. </p>
<p id=”par-2_49″>A Kensington Palace spokesperson has confirmed that the royal couple and their <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/photos-of-prince-george-princess-charlotte-and-prince-louis-misbehaving-throwing-tantrums-and-making-us-laugh.html/?swcfpc=1″>three children</a> will be moving later this year. So what does that mean for the other famous residences in London, like Buckingham Palace, where it now appears Prince William won’t ever live even when he’s king. </p>

<p id=”par-4_47″>Since 2022, the Wales family has been living at Adelaide Cottage, which is a modest four-bedroom property, also located in Windsor. They moved there in 2022, a few months before <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/queen-elizabeth-ii-dead-british-monarch-dies-96.html/”>Queen Elizabeth’s death</a> to be closer to where she had been spending most of her time. </p>
<p id=”par-5_61″>Before moving there full-time, the family lived at their most famous residence, inside Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace. But don’t let the name fool you because their living quarters aren’t anything like you’re average city apartment. The apartment is spread out over four floors, boasting plenty of rooms and play areas for the children and even a gym for Will and Kate. </p>
<p id=”par-6_46″>Royal watchers have seen glimpses of the apartment via Zoom calls and video messages the couple has done over the years. Photos of the inside were also seen back in 2016 when then-U.S. President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama visited the Palace. </p>
<p id=”par-7_58″>The family also has a country home in Norfolk. Anmer Hall is close to Sandringham House, where the royals typically spend their Christmas holidays. The 18th-century Georgian house was actually a wedding present from Queen Elizabeth when the couple got married in 2011. The place is quite large, boasting 10 bedrooms with amenities like a swimming pool and a tennis court.</p>

<p id=”par-8_85″>The Waleses’ new abode is called Forest Lodge. It’s a Grade II-listed building that dates back more than 325 years. The interior of the estate features stunning historic architectural detailing, showing off period characteristics. Forest Lodge has eight bedrooms, which is double what the family had at Adelaide Cottage. It has its own tennis court and sits on the extensive Windsor Park grounds. It’s also 10 minutes closer than Adelaide was to the Lambrook School where Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend. </p>

<p id=”par-11_42″>With Forest Lodge set to become the family’s “forever home,” many wonder what will become of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace as sources have said Prince William has no intentions of living at either of those residences when he’s the monarch. </p>

I just hope that the Prince of Wales can find the right balance between raising his family away from the public glare at Windsor with the presence required of him as a future and eventual head of state.”</p>
