
Pat Montandon, an author, philanthropist, and one-time girlfriend of Frank Sinatra, has died. She passed away at De Anza House, an elder care facility in Palm Desert, California, on December 21. She was 96, People reports.

The news of Montandonâs passing was shared by her son, Sean Wilsey, who penned a heartfelt message on Facebook about not only her death but also her life, giving an insight into how loved she was. In his post, Wilsey shared that his mother had been in the elder care facility for âthe last few months.â He continued, âShe has been attended to with great love and dignity by her dear friend Melissa Aaron, who lives nearby, and a group of deeply kind staff members.â
He revealed that she âstopped eating a week ago and stopped drinking a few days later.â And her âbeloved longtime friend Susan Gold drove out from LA to be with her immediately.â He also flew to be by her side, and when she died, she died with her loved ones close by.
âShe passed away this morning, but was able to see her two grandchildren, Owen and Mira Wilsey, last month,â Wilsey shared. âAs we all sat together telling stories on Thanksgiving, my mother, whoâd mostly been listening, suddenly spoke. âI want you to carry on as if you werenât afraid,â she said, and there was no arguing with that. We will.â
Wilsey asked fans and followers to share their memories of his beloved mother in the post’s comments, and they did. âSheâs been such a beautiful icon in my life, dating way back to the morning Prize Movie âDaze.â Sheâs truly one of San Franciscoâs finest ladies who ever graced our City By The Bay,â a comment reads.
âI met Patsy Lou Montandon hot air ballooning in the Burgundy District of France in May 1982… She changed my life,â another person shared.
A third comment reads, âDear Sean, Iâm deeply grieved at the passing of your mother, our dear friend Patricia Montandon. She was a true friend.â

Montandon was a brilliantly talented woman. She was an author and a philanthropist, and she knew how to throw a good party in the 1960s. ABC7 reports that guests who attended her parties included âGettys, Andy Warhol, and Frank Sinatra.â
She also dated Sinatra, albeit briefly. She âSpent a summer dating Frank Sinatra while managing an outpost of Joseph Magnin in Lake Tahoe and became a darling of the gossip columns,â the Los Angeles Times reports.
