An actor who rose to fame as a child star on Game of Thrones has shocked fans after revealing a major milestone.

In 2011, Isaac Hempstead Wright had his break-out role in the blockbuster HBO series, in which he played Bran Stark, whose parents were Lord Eddard and Lady Catelyn Stark of Winterfell.

Isaac, who was just 12 when he was cast, went on to play the character throughout the show’s eight-year run.

Before starring in the series the actor, who was born in Surrey, was studying at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School.

Although he had no interest in acting initially, he ended up pursuing it after joining a drama club to avoid playing football on Saturday mornings during the cold months of the year.

Since Game of Thrones wrapped up in 2019, he’s appeared in the science fiction film Voyagers but has largely stayed out of the spotlight.

Sharing a series of photos from the day on social media to his 800,000 followers, the 26-year-old shared the exciting news.

Although he did not name or tag his new wife, he captioned the post: ‘The best person I have ever met, the best day of my life, the best friends and family we could ever ask for. What a day, what a life – I love you M ❤️.’

He also thanked all those who were involved in the big day, tagging their photographer, caterers and band.

Isaac was quickly flooded with a string of congratulatory messages, including from his former co-stars.

‘Congratulations ya beauties,’ Lena Headey, who played Cersei Lannister, commented.

His film debut also came in 2011 in the horror film The Awakening, later having a supporting role in the 2013 crime thriller Closed Circuit and voice acted in the 2014 animated fantasy-comedy film, The Boxtrolls, a 2014 episode of Family Guy, and Revolting Rhymes.

In 2017 he also enrolled at the University of Birmingham but dropped out early to focus on his acting career.

However, he returned two years later, studying neuroscience at University College London.
