George Clooney is back to being a silver fox, and we have Amal Clooney to thank due to her reaction to his dyed brown hair.
The Ocean’s Eleven actor, 64, is well known for his grey hair, which he has had since his twenties, but he reached for the dye bottle during his recent stage role in Broadway’s Good Night, and Good Luck.
Hitting the red carpet at the Tony Awards, Clooney had ditched the brown locks and was back to his usual self, posing alongside Amal, 47, in a suave black tuxedo.
Amal looked glamorous as ever in an off-shoulder white beaded dress, with her own brunette tresses curled and pulled to the side.
Speaking to People on the red carpet, Clooney revealed how happy Amal was that he had cut his hair – and therefore the brown dye out – after finding his drastic look ‘funny.’
‘Oh man, my wife [Amal] was the happiest person when I came home after the play today and I’d cut all the hair off,’ he revealed.

‘Because, you know, I looked like a drug dealer with that bad black dye job.’
Last week, during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he covered his hair with a cap while revealing how his wife, whom he wed in 2014, felt about it.
‘She thinks it’s funny. She’ll be glad when it’s gone,’ he told host Meyers.
In an interview with CBS Mornings in April, he confided that he himself had found it a struggle to adapt to.
‘I’m not used to it. You never get used to it,’ he said. Listen, I started getting gray when I was 25, so I’ve been gray most of my life. So it’s not my favorite look, and my wife, she thinks it’s funny.’
Amal isn’t the only one who has been left giggling over George’s transformation, as he told Gayle King about twins Alexander and Ella’s reaction.

‘They laugh at it because, honestly, nothing makes you look older than being 63 and dying your hair,’ he said.
It comes weeks after George made a shock marriage confession, insisting he and Amal have never had an argument.
‘Amal and I are having a really great time in life,’ he told the host. ‘Our kids are seven, about to be eight, which is a pretty great age. They’re really curious and funny,’ he told Gayle during an interview.
‘Every parent thinks their kids are great – our kids are funny, and make us laugh.
‘We were here with you once before, and I remember we said we’d never had an argument. We still haven’t. We’re trying to find something to fight about!’
