The 2025 Tony Award nominations were announced and it looks like a new cream of the Broadway crop has been set.

Cole Escola is being recognized for his book writing and acting take on Mary Todd Lincoln in “Oh, Mary!” Sadie Sink and “John Proctor is the Villain” are both up for awards. “Purpose” is breaking boundaries with its actors and story telling.

Past Tony Award winners Sarah Paulson and Wendell Pierce made an appearance on “CBS Mornings” to make the announcement of the plays up for the trophy. A total of 29 shows were recognized.
