Glastonbury Festival 2024 is right around the corner with music fans flocking to Worthy Farm for a weekend of live music.

Dua Lipa, SZA, and Coldplay will headline this year’s event with Shania Twain performing in the coveted legends slot.

With hundreds of acts to choose from, music lovers will be spoiled for choice with how to entertain themselves when Glastonbury kicks off next week – and that’s without considering the rumoured secret acts.

Sleuths believe that 00s pop icons Girls Aloud are set to join the Dance The Night hitmaker Dua, 28, onstage as Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, and Nadine Coyle near the end of their huge sell-out arena tour.

It’s also not uncommon for headliners to bring out special guests, with Elton John bringing out everyone from Gabriels singer Jacob Lusk to The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers for his 2023 farewell set.

It is the first time the group have performed together in more than 11 years and the first time they’ve reunited as a four-piece following the death of Sarah Harding in 2021.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that there is a glaring gap in the band’s O2 Arena residency on Friday, June 28, which could see them make a whistle-stop tour to the Pyramid Stage.

Fans were quick to take to social media to share their supposed evidence of the impending Glastonbury surprise – as well as scream their excitement.

‘Wild speculation: Dua Lipa’s Glastonbury set time is 1h45m. Seems kinda long? According to http://setlist.fm, so far this tour her shows have been more like 1h30m. Does she have a surprise planned? Guests maybe? Who? Could be anyone, though I note Girls Aloud have a gap,’ Muldoon posted on X.

Alec Wilson asking the user not to ger their hopes up, while others offered their own theories as to who could join her.

One begged for Ryan Gosling to join her for a rendition of his hit Barbie song I’m Just Ken after Dua starred in the film as Mermaid Barbie alongside John Cena.

Others, however, believe she will be joined by Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin for a performance of her single Homesick, which was written by and features the frontman.

Taylorlipa echoed what many were thinking, writing: ‘Oh I swear if Dua brings out girls aloud as a guest for Glastonbury, I will ascend. I will be fulfilled spiritually and pass from this world.’

Should Girls Aloud be heading to Glastonbury, they will surely be hoping for a smooth set following drama on their UK tour which seemed to show Cheryl almost pulled off stage in Newcastle.

The pop icon, 40, gave a teary speech to the arena of Geordies and remembered how she left the city with ‘a suitcase and a dream’ and is now back 22 years later.

A video of her words has circulated on social media, with many flocking to the comments section with love for the Newcastle-born star.

However another video, filmed by fan in the audience @Emily741_, saw Cheryl reaching out into the crowd in a ‘terrifying’ moment that almost saw her topple off stage.
