Glastonbury has had plenty of legendary headliners over the years – but one artist still eludes the Pyramid Stage.
From Sir Elton John and Beyonce to David Bowie and Sir Paul McCartney, the greats have graced the iconic festival, but organiser Emily Eavis still has one ‘dream headliner’ to top the bill.
She admitted Running Up That Hill hitmaker Kate Bush is top of the list, although it appears unlikely.
The 65-year-old singer – who has enjoyed a renewed surge in popularity after her song was used in Stranger Things – hasn’t performed live in a decade.
Her final show was the end of her 22-date residency at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in October 2014, but Emily is staying optimistic.
She told BBC Sounds’ Sidetracked podcast: ‘I’ve put it out there that I’d love to have her. I hope it will happen one day.

‘I mean, Elton was a pipe dream and it happened, so you never know.’
After Running Up That Hill featured in season four of Stranger Things, the song – which was first released in 1985 – surged to the top of the charts.
Meanwhile, Emily also admitted she and her father Michael Eavis are considering a break for the festival in 2026.

‘The fallow year is important because it gives the land a rest, and it gives the cows a chance to stay out for longer and reclaim their land,’ she pointed out.
‘And I think it’s quite good not to be seen to be cashing in.’
Fallows years are nothing new for Glastonbury, and due to the pandemic, the festival took two years off in 2020 and 2021.
This year’s event is just a couple of weeks away, and the organisers are making history with the first time two female acts have been named headliners.

As well as Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA will take to the Pyramid stage over a special weekend from June 26 to 30.
Taylor Swift was rumoured to have been lined up to headline four years ago, alongside The Beatles legend Sir Paul, and Kendrick Lamar.
The Bad Blood singer is yet to play, but the latter two both performed in 2022, while last year it was Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Sir Elton who took centre stage.
