Hollywood icon Glenn Close has revealed that her best ever onscreen kiss was with a fellow legend of the silver screen – Robert Redford.
The Fatal Attraction star, 77, rose to fame in the 1970s, appearing on stage and in a series of television and Broadway productions through to her breakthrough in the 1980s.
Receiving Emmy, Oscar and Tony nominations following her appearance in the comedy-drama film The Big Chill, she next went on to appear in the 1984 sports drama The Natural, starring Robert Redford.
Robert, 84, starred as middle-aged baseball player Roy Hobbs, rising out of nowhere to become a prestigiously talented batter.
Glenn appeared opposite as his girlfriend, Iris Gaines, with whom he learns he shares a teenage son.
And, if you thought the pair shared a sizzling sense of chemistry in the film, you’d be right… Glenn has described their kiss as the best she’s ever put to film.

Appearing on Watch What Happens last week with host Andy Cohen, the actress participated in the show’s Plead the Fifth segment – in which participants are faced with three questions which they must answer truthfully.
When asked what she thought her best onscreen kiss had been, the actress took a moment, and then answered: ‘Robert Redford. In The Natural.’
She continued: ‘I only got to kiss him once.’
‘Only one take?’ asked host Andy, 56.
‘No, no, maybe we did two takes,’ the Mars Attacks! star clarified, ‘ she replied. ‘But I also threw him out of my apartment in that movie. But I ended up with him.’

Based on Bernard Malamud’s 1952 novel of the same name, The Natural was directed by Barry Levinson and also starred Robert Duvall, Kim Basinger and Michael Madsen.
The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Glenn.
The actress went on to appear in Fatal Attraction three years later, in which she played bunny-boiling stalker Alex Forrest.
These roles propelled the star into the stratosphere, and she remains one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures – starring as Cruella de Vil in the live-action 101 Dalmations movies, the Vice President in Air Force One, and Nova Prime in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Recent years have seen Glenn take on a recurring role in The Simpsons (as Homer’s mum, Mona), in the JD Vance memoir Hillbilly Elegy and Netflix horror film The Deliverance.
For the latter, her transformation into sinister grandmother Alberta left fans shocked and appalled – with many blaming her repeated Oscar snubs for the reason she had taken on such a role.
‘I blame the academy. If they had given her the Oscar that she deserved for The Wife her career would have taken a different turn,’ speculated one fan on the social media site X.
‘Had to do it 🤝🏽😂’ joked director Lee Daniels as audiences were left reeling at screen icon Glenn Close’s delivery of one particularly X-rated line.
