Two of wrestling’s most legendary tag teams had one final match at TNA Bound For Glory and one of them has hung up their boots.
After an entertaining and nostalgic Tables Match during last night’s special event, the Hardy Boyz and Dudley Boyz, the latter also known as Team 3D, shared an emotional moment in the middle of the ring.
Matt and Jeff Hardy won the bout to retain both the NXT and TNA Wrestling Tag Team Championships, defeating their longtime rivals for the last time.
After the bell rang, Bubba Ray and D-Von took off their boots, which has traditionally been a sign of retirement in wrestling.
Adding to the heartfelt scenes, the Hall of Famers handed their boots to the Hardy Boyz, who were visibly moved by the gesture as the four men hugged each other in the ring.
After almost three decades in the business and an iconic run in companies like ECW, WWE and TNA, the duo have officially called time.
Taking to X after the show, Bubba (also known as Bully Ray outside WWE) shared a photo of himself and D-Von leaving the arena arm in arm and wrote: ‘Thank YOU. The End. #TNABoundForGlory’
It was a befitting conclusion to a truly legendary career, with their former teammate Spike Dudley joining in the fun as they went out against their greatest rivals in their signature match.
Not surprisingly, fans were incredibly emotional seeing the Dudleyz get their swansong.
‘Awesome to see The Dudley Boyz getting a proper send off. One of if the greatest tag teams in pro wrestling history. They deserve every second of this,’ wrote @ThePeoplesPod1 on X.

And @iamtheegoddess said: ‘End of an era the Dudley Boyz are engraved as one of the greatest tag teams of all times. Thank you Dudleys’
‘One of if not the greatest to ever do it! The Dudley Boyz have put out some of the best matches I’ve ever watched! Thank you,’ tweeted @MarcApruzzese, while others hailing them the ‘greatest tag team in pro wrestling history.
And @leggohz wrote: ‘The Dudley Boys / Team 3D is arguably the best tag team wrestling has ever seen and one of my personal favorites to watch. Them officially retiring was sad to see, but was to be expected. They were one hell of a tag team that accomplished so much.’
A defining team from the Attitude Era, the Dudley Boyz are the only duo in history to win the WWF, WWE, ECW, WCW, NWA, TNA and IWGP titles, plus All Japan Pro Wrestling’s World’s Strongest Tag Determination League.
They were inducted into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014, and the WWE Hall of Fame four years later, with the Hardcore Hall of Fame following in 2024.
They had 18 world tag team championship reigns in WWE and 23 in TNA, with a legacy that will live forever.
