Stefani and Shelton don’t have any kids of their own, but rumors persisted for years that they were considering it. In April 2024, a source alleged that Stefani and Shelton were “struggling” to find the perfect surrogate. </p>

In one instance, friends say Gwen wanted to use a surrogate in California and Blake wanted someone far removed from Hollywood. In another case, the surrogate backed out because of the pressure. When it doesn’t work out, it’s wrenching for Gwen and Blake.”</p>

However, the process has allegedly brought the couple closer together. “Blake just wants Gwen to be happy, and she wants the same for him,” the source added. “She knows he desperately wants to be a dad.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_39″>This isn’t the first time that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton fans have heard about the couple’s alleged surrogacy plans. An insider told <a href=”https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-moms/news/gwen-stefani-blake-shelton-turning-to-surrogacy-to-have-baby/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Us Weekly</a> in 2018 that the couple was “determined” to have a biological child together. </p>
<p id=”par-6_42″>“They are in the final stages of choosing the woman who will carry their baby,” the source explained. “It’s extremely important to Gwen that she give Blake a biological child, and Blake is so excited. … He wants his own child too.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_31″>The source added that Stefani is “in awe” of how Shelton acts around her boys, which makes her even more confident that he’d be a great dad to their potential child.</p>
