If there’s one thing most parents agree on, it’s that nothing can truly prepare you for being a parent, except becoming a parent. You can read all the books, ask all the questions, and there are still moments every day that surprise the most seemingly prepared new mom or dad.
Justin Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, have both spoken about how becoming parents to Jack Blues changed them. In a recent Twitch livestream, Justin said, “Being a dad is like, it makes you really ask yourself what’s important. Your time becomes a lot more valuable, because you realize what you’re doing with your time, cause all you really wanna do is get back to your kid.”
For supermodel and fashion maven Hailey, she may not be planning to expand their family soon, but she knows she’ll be ready when it happens.
Hailey Bieber on Motherhood: Nothing Can Prepare You Until You Do It
In an interview with GQ, Hailey was asked about what she wished she’d known before becoming a mom. “I donât think thereâs anything someone can tell you about it that will ever, ever, ever prepare you until you do it yourself,” she answered honestly. “And I think once you do it, you have so much more understanding.”
“I feel much more prepared to do it again, as opposed to how not prepared I felt doing it for the first time,” she continued. “And I think for me personally, thereâs so much unknown to it, but so much happens and so much changes and you evolve in a totally different way that you would never be able to prepare for until you do it.”
Hailey recalled that she used to hate missing out, and she was the last one to break plans. But that’s all changed.
“Iâve become a lot more of a homebody than I used to be,” she admitted. “And I think when you have a child, that happens, at least it did for me. I don’t want to generalize it, like that happens for everybody, but it definitely made me have so much less FOMO.”
Hailey Bieber Feels Comfortable With Current Level of Sharing About Son
Neither Hailey nor Justin has spoken publicly about expanding their family, which isn’t surprising. They are very private and careful about how much they share about their son. Considering how famous she and Justin are, it’s all a balancing act.
“We both feel very protective of our son and I donât think thatâs ever going to change,” she said, honestly. “But our life is our life, and it is really public, so I think weâre just going to cross every bridge that we need to when we get there. But as of right now, I feel really comfortable about the way we are sharing things and not sharing things.”
