Hallmarkâs new limited holiday series titled âTwelve Dates ‘Til Christmasâ premieres on December 5. The series stars Mae Whitman, Jane Seymour, and a great cast of other stellar entertainers, and fans will surely want to know more about how it all came together.
‘Twelve Days ‘Til Christmas’ Filmed in Ireland & England
According to Hallmark, “Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas” will have six episodes in total. The series is adapted from the Jenni Bayliss novel of the same name.
The cast and crew filmed in both Dublin, Ireland as well as in London, England for the series. Hallmark explained, “Earlier this year exterior scenes were shot in iconic London locations to capture the magic and beauty of the city at Christmastime.”
The series revolves around a character named Kate, who is a textile pattern designer in England. She lives next to her divorced dad while her mother is a world traveler originally from the United States.
Kate’s father, Mac, needs his daughter’s help as he recovers from a motorbike accident. Between work and taking care of her father, Kate has little time or inclination to date.
However, Hallmark teases, Kate’s best friend, Laura, signs her up for a “holiday-themed matchmaking program in the days leading up to the holiday featuring carefully curated, yuletide dating experiences” in hopes it’ll bring sparks into Kate’s life.
Another good friend, Callum, helps Laura persuade Kate to give the dating opportunity a shot. Kate is initially reluctant, but she “ultimately gets into the spirit of the program and is caught off guard when she meets someone who reinvigorates her zest for life.”
In addition, Hallmark reveals, Kate’s mother, Delilah, pops up, and Mac finds new romance himself as the series plays out. The network notes that “As Kate wends her way through the 12 dates, she takes a circuitous route to romance while also making some important discoveries about herself.”
The ‘Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas’ Cast Is Packed With Talent
Mae Whitman, known for her roles in “Parenthood” and “Good Girls,” plays Kate.
The character of Mac is played by Nathaniel Parker, known for his work in “Midsomer Murders.” Mac’s ex-wife, Kate’s mother, Delilah, is played by Mary McDonnell. Fans may recognize McDonnell from her roles on “Battlestar Galactica” and “The Fall of the House of Usher.”
Kate’s best friend, Laura, is played by Lucy Eaton from “Staged.” Her other close friend, Callum, is portrayed by “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Morning Show” star Julian Morris.
The man who comes to capture Kate’s heart is played by Toby Sandeman. Viewers have previously seen Sandeman in “The Game” and “Running Point.”
