One of the sextuplets from the TLC series “Jon & Kate Plus 8” is offering rare insight into what it was like growing up on television.
Hannah Gosselin and her five siblings just turned 21-years-old, but didn’t celebrate that milestone together.
Mom Kate Gosselin shared a post on Instagram showing her toasting with four of the six sextuplets- Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel. In the post, Kate didn’t acknowledge missing kids Hannah and Collin, or her two older daughters Mady and Cara, who also aren’t in the picture. The caption merely says, “And just like that, they turned 21! Happy Birthday to my 6! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸Â #GosselinSextuplets“
But Hannah Gosselin has a lot more than that to say.
In an article about Kids on Reality Shows in Teen Vogue, Hannah says filming the show drove her parents apart, but it brought her and her siblings together. â[Filming] made my siblings and I closer to each other, even though it made my parents further from each other,â she admitted, also saying, âItâs hard to go back and watch my parents argue.â
Hannah and Colin Want to Reunite With Their Brothers & Sisters
In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” both Hannah and her brother Collin say they long to reunite with their brothers and sisters.
Both currently live with their dad, Jon Gosselin, while the other four live with Kate Gosselin.
According to PEOPLE, at the time of the divorce, Kate was granted full custody of all eight kids, but Collin was later placed in a program for children with special needs.
After two years in the facility, Collin moved in with Jon in 2018. Hannah chose to live with her father that same year. In the interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Hannah says she misses her siblings. “Oh, 100-percent I miss my siblings. I did not want to be separated from them or live in a different household, but there was unfair treatment in my mom’s household and I just wanted to live with my dad.”
Collin told “Entertainment Tonight” that he is ready to reconnect with his brothers and sisters. “I have not spoken with my brothers and sisters in five or six years now. It’s tough. I would love to have a relationship with them. I would be willing to put my relationship with my parents aside, and I have. In my eyes, it’s me and my siblings and I love them to death.”
Hannah Gosselin Says ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ Has a Bright Side
In the end, Hannah Gosselin says filming “Jon & Kate Plus 8” has had some positive effects for her.
She says she likes being able to go back and watch moments from her childhood. And she says the money she received from the show paid half of her college tuition.
