Stanislav “Stan” Yanevski is best known for playing brooding heartthrob Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He also appeared uncredited in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. The actor celebrated his 40th birthday on May 16. In honor of the milestone, he posted an Instagram photo of himself as a kid, telling himself not to give up on his dreams. “You will succeed and it will be worth every fight!” he wrote. Unfortunately, the actor posted another photo from a hospital bed just days later. He revealed that he was hospitalized after he found himself unable to breathe.
‘Harry Potter’s’ Yanevski Gives Health Update After Surgery
On the morning of May 23, Yanevski informed his 277,000 Instagram followers that he was taken to the hospital because he couldn’t breathe. He disclosed that he hadn’t been able to breathe easily, smell, or sleep well for several months. But Yanevski kept the info mostly to himself because he didn’t want to worry anyone.
He called the surgery a success and said he was improving daily. “I had a checkup with my doctor today and he said that Iâm recovering really well and was actually quite surprised with my progress,” Yanevski wrote. “I guess all the healthy diets, training and self control and belief help in such cases.”
He Needs More Time Before He Can Talk Again
While Yanevski’s prognosis and outlook is promising, his Cameo fans must wait a bit longer. The actor says he’ll be able to “sleep without struggles, recover properly with peaceful sleep and be at my full powers soon.” But not yet. He still has pieces in his nose from the surgery, and says he won’t be available for Cameo or public appearances until he “can talk properly again.”
Since appearing in the Harry Potter films, Yanevski has acted in a handful of projects, with his last film being 2021’s Last Man Standing. He also co-produced his films Frame of Regret and The Cloaking. However, he has kept in touch with numerous Harry Potter castmates. In 2022, he joined Oliver and James Phelps (who played Fred and George Weasley) for their show, Fantastic Friends. Together, the trio visited France’s vineyards, the Swiss Alps’ Furka Pass, and learned watchmaking.
Yanevski has also shown that he’s always up for Harry Potter-related events and answering fans’ questions. In 2022, Daniel Radcliffe’s YouTube channel hosted an event where Yanevski graciously responded to fans’ questions.
