Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Frantzve Kirk, spoke for the first time since her husband’s tragic death on Friday, Sept. 12. The Turning Point USA founder was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University, which was the first stop of Turning Point USAâs fall initiative, âThe American Comeback Tour.â
He is survived by his wife and two children, a 1-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter. And along with promising that his hard work will continue, she also took a moment to acknowledge the family they built together.
âMy husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children,â Erika Kirk said. âNo one will ever forget my husbandâs name, and I will make sure of it.â
“He was the perfect father. He was the perfect husband,” she later added.
Who is Erika Kirk?
Erika Frantzve grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and was crowned Miss Arizona USA in 2012 while competing as Miss Phoenix. She went on to represent Arizona in the Miss USA pageant. She described holding the title of Miss Arizona USA as having “highlighted her poise, dedication, and inner strength,” per her website.
She played college basketball at Regis University, before going on to double major in Political Science & International Relations at Arizona State University. Frantzve received a Juris Master in American Legal Studies from Liberty University, along with currently working towards a Doctorate in Biblical Studies.
She and Kirk met in September 2018, and went on to get engaged in December 2020 and then married in May 2021.
Frantzve launched a Christian-focused clothing brand called Proclaim Streetwear in 2018, and hosts the âMidweek Rise Upâ podcast, as well as being a “passionate ministry leader.”

Megyn Kelly had to deliver the heartbreaking news of Charlie Kirk’s passing while on live television, and the emotion she felt in that moment was clear.
âThey are reporting that Charlie has died, that heâs dead, at the age of 31,â she said, with her voice breaking as she spoke.
Kelly went on to share a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, paying tribute to the Turning Point USA founder.
“Weâre going to miss you terribly. Rest in Peace sweet friend,” she wrote.
Along with Kelly, many posted touching tributes for Kirk, including actor Chris Pratt.
âPraying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need Godâs grace. God help us,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
