Fans of the late ’90s sitcom “Spin City” were given a nostalgic treat! Yes, Heather Locklear and Michael J. Fox reunited at Toronto’s Fan Expo, leaving fans in shock and excited all in one. Locklear, known for her iconic roles on “Melrose Place” and “Dynasty,” joined “Spin City” during its fourth season. Starring as Caitlin Moore, she portrayed a savvy campaign manager. She worked alongside Fox’s character, Mike Flaherty, the deputy mayor of New York City. It was a pivotal period during his career after he revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “Spin City” aired from 1996 to 2002, with Locklear joining just before Fox stepped away at the end of Season 4. Fox, whose career skyrocketed with the legendary “Back to the Future,” revealed in a 2019 interview with The New York Times that his Parkinson’s diagnosis had unfortunately affected his physical performance on the sitcom. “I could pull a face; I could do a double take. And one of the reasons I left “Spin City” was that I felt my face hardening,” he said. Despite these challenges, Fox never left acting entirely. Excited about his next steps, fans can look forward to his return in the upcoming third season of Apple TV+’s “Shrinking,” starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford.

Locklear’s reunion with Fox highlights the enduring connection between the two stars and the affection fans have for the show and for their ultimate bond. During a panel at 90’s Con in Daytona Beach last year, Locklear reflected on working with both Fox and his successor, Charlie Sheen, noting, “They’re brilliant. They know how … one is fast-talking and the other is slow.” Her comments underscore the playful and adaptive energy required to match the iconic personalities that brought “Spin City” to life.

Where They Are Now

Beyond the reunion, Locklear remains active in the entertainment world and has expressed interest in reprising her iconic “Melrose Place” character, Amanda Woodward. On the 2025 Fan Expo Canada panel, she quipped about the role, “I always got to throw the desk up and throw the man on top of it, and then me on top of that. So yes, who wouldn’t like that?” Meanwhile, Fox continues to champion Parkinson’s awareness through his foundation while preparing fans for his return to TV. We can’t wait to see him shine on the screen again!

Their reunion is a reminder of the enduring power and appeal of “Spin City” and the chemistry between its stars to this day. Whether through Instagram photos or upcoming projects, Locklear and Fox continue to captivate audiences and prove that true television magic never really fades.
