Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan’s late sister, Darci Rose, is believed to have fallen ill after taking drugs, according to a police statement.
On October 21 2025, the 33-year-old star broke the news on Instagram that her half-sister Darci had passed away aged 19.
‘It is with immeasurable grief and sadness that our baby girl, my baby sister Darci Rose, passed away peacefully holding my hand, surrounded by family and her best friends,’ she wrote.
The last four days have been something I hope no family ever has to go through,’ she continued. ‘We are traumatised in every sense of the word.’
Greater Manchester Police have now released a statement about the incident.
‘On Sunday, 19 October 2025 we were called by hospital staff to the concern for welfare of a 19-year-old woman who had fallen seriously ill after it is believed she had taken drugs,’ a GMP spokesperson said in a statement shared with Metro.
‘Sadly, the woman died in hospital yesterday evening (20/10/2025). Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time. Enquiries are ongoing.’
Following Darci’s death, Holly thanked the ambulance workers and the Manchester Royal Infirmary for giving her and her family a chance to say goodbye.
‘Because of you all we have had the opportunity to hold her hand, stroke her hair and feel her heart beating for the last time,’ she wrote.
‘We will forever be grateful for the way you have looked after her and us throughout this unimaginable process.’
Holly requested that people respect her privacy while she and her family process what has happened.
Fans and friends have been offering their condolences in the comments on Holly’s Instagram.
‘Holly, I’m so so sorry for you and your family’s loss,’ wrote Geordie Shore co-star Nathan Henry. ‘I’m sending you all love and hugs xxxxxx.’
‘I’m blessed to have known such a beautiful girl! Alpha Jax’s birthday will be how I will remember your beautiful sister Darci,’ added Charlotte Crosby. ‘Alba spent all day playing with her!’
‘A family should never have to go through this ever,’ commented Sophie Kasaei, Holly’s friend and former co-star.
‘I wish I could take this pain away, my amazing Holly. Darci was and is an angel and will always be guiding you and your family.’
