The late Kim Woodburn’s How Clean Is Your House? co-star Aggie MacKenzie has paid tribute to the TV personality.

Woodburn has died aged 83 after a short illness, her representative confirmed earlier today.

In a statement provided to Metro, MacKenzie, 69, wrote: ‘Kim was a tormented soul, but now she’s finally at peace. We clashed often.

‘Behind the fierce persona was deep pain and incredible strength. She survived because she had to. I hope she’s resting now.

‘She was an unforgettable woman.’

In the original statement from the Celebrity Big Brother star’s representative, they wrote: ‘Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person.

‘Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate.

‘We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career.

‘We kindly ask that Kim’s husband and close friends are given the time and privacy they need to grieve. We will not be releasing any further details.’

The co-stars garnered national fame for their innovative Channel 4 cleaning show, How Clean Is Your House? which ran from 2003 to 2009.

There have been longstanding rumours of a feud between the pair since they parted ways professionally over 16 years ago.

In 2023, MacKenzie told GB News that there was ‘friction’ between the pair when they were filming the show.

‘I think we’re chalk and cheese,’ she said at the time.

The TV personality continued: ‘Because of the friction there was between us, it created this energy and so we knew how to be in front of the camera. I mean, most of it was ad lib. We had an idea of the storyline, but we just kind of made it up as we went along.’

‘I think for her [Kim] it’s kind of normal to have conflict and I think that if things are calm and easy, I think she found that quite difficult. That’s not me, I like it easy peasy. There were lots of highs, and a few lows.’

In 2019, MacKenzie had explained that the hosting duo hadn’t spoken since a falling out at the panto in 2007 where they played the Ugly Step Sisters in Cinderella.

She told The Sun: ‘We were doing panto in Brighton,’ Aggie recalled. ‘I was so shocked and upset and angry. I lost my rag with her.

‘I said, “You’ve really overstepped the mark now!”‘

‘We carried on working together for quite a while but the only speaking we did was on camera. It had all come to a bitter end. We’ve never spoken since.’

Meanwhile, to The Daily Mail, MacKenzie had said the pair were ‘never friends’ and that ‘Kim was such a big, damaging part of my life. I feel she almost destroyed me. I know that sounds extreme but she was this massive powerful figure.’

The same year, Woodburn told the Mirror: ‘I have never said anything derogatory about Aggie and I am not going to start now. I am unclear where these false allegations have come from but I wish her all the luck in the world.’

After How Clean Is Your House? ended in 2009 MacKenzie had a stint as a guest presenter on The Hour and appeared on season six of Masterchef alongside stars such a Kirsty Wark.

In 2012, she landed her own ITV show Storage Hoarders which lasted for one season.

Over recent years, MacKenzie has retrained as a yoga teacher saying she has never felt ‘felt fitter, stronger and more flexible’. She runs regular online classes and has several YouTube videos with specific yoga guidance.

After qualifying as a teacher in 2017 she also started offering intimate yoga sessions in her North London home.

Her presence has remained on TV. She last appeared on Good Morning Britain where she addressed the allegations against Gregg Wallace after her Celebrity Masterchef co-star Wark spoke out about allegedly being subject to sexualised jokes.

‘I agree with everything Kirsty says. Those jokes weren’t actually directed at me, but the jokes were always smutty, they were endless,’ she told GMB.
