Kate Hudson is opening up about a time her brother, Oliver Hudson, stepped in when she needed him most. During the July 21 episode of their podcast ‘Sibling Revelry‘, the siblings answered fan questions about moments when they leaned on each other. Kate didnât bat an eyelid before naming hers.
âFor me, with you and my divorce, with having Ryder and being a working mom, I felt like you really stepped up without me asking,â Kate, 46, shared with her brother. âYou just stepped up as Uncle Oli and was really there for us and Ryder.â
âYou Were So Stable for Ryder & Me,â Kate Tells Oliver

Kate and “The Black Crowes” frontman Chris Robinson divorced in 2007 after seven years of marriage. Their son, Ryder, now 21, was just two years old when the couple separated in 2006. Kate reflected on how that transition was made easier thanks to Oliverâs consistent presence.
âIn reflection, you were so stable for Ryder and myself,â she told Oliver. âWe had so much fun, and we created fun times with the kids.â
She credited her older brother for helping during that âperiod of timeâ in her life by doing things without even being asked.
The Hudsons Lean on Each Other in Big & Small Ways

Oliver, 48, chimed in with his thoughts about their dynamic, noting that their support often comes in small, daily gestures rather than major life events. âThereâs little things that happen,â he said. âItâs not these big catastrophic events where itâs like, âHere, put your head on my shoulder.â Itâs the little things.â
Still, Oliver admitted that asking for help doesnât always come easy to him, especially during more difficult moments. âItâs interesting because⦠youâre presenting weakness when you feel like you have to lean on somebody,â he said. âYou have to express a certain vulnerability, and you donât want to at times.â
Kate-Oliver’s Sibling Bond That Goes Beyond Fame
Kate and Oliver, children of Goldie Hawn and musician Bill Hudson, have long shared their sibling bond publicly. In addition to Sibling Revelry, they frequently post about each other on social media and gush about their connection in interviews.
From co-parenting support to emotional lifelines, their relationship continues to sail through life’s testing times!
On personal front, Kate Hudson is making the most of summer with the people she loves most. The “Bride Wars” star recently gave fans a peek into her dreamy Greece getaway, surrounded by her closest family. The family also visited Rome.
Joining her on the sun-soaked trip were fiancé Danny Fujikawa, brothers Oliver Hudson and Wyatt Russell, and her childrenâ13-year-old Bingham, whom she shares with Matt Bellamy, and 6-year-old Rani, her daughter with Fujikawa. âFamily summer,â Kate captioned the scenic July 3 post. âWe love you Greece.â
